ALPHA 4.7.2 LIVE — DEFENSECON 2956 INCOMING AND BAR CITIZEN CHINA

The week opens with Alpha 4.7.2 already live, giving the Nyx system considerably more to do for anyone willing to leave their usual routes behind. The update adds nearly 100 new contracts across 13 mission archetypes. CIG notes that teams are also working on known issues affecting the availability of some courier missions.

A fresh Roadmap Update puts Alpha 4.8 into sharper focus, with Evocati already testing early content ahead of the first PTU waves. On the community side, RSI recapped a busy weekend at LVL UP EXPO, where the booth brought in thousands of attendees and veteran players stepped in to help new pilots find their feet in the verse. The United Danes Initiative also ran a community booth at Gamebox Festival in Herning, Denmark — sim pit, FPS station, clay modeling, a Vanduul Swarm competition, a loot hunt across the festival floor, and a Bar Citizen that pulled in attendees from across Scandinavia, Germany, and the Netherlands. The community, as ever, remains alarmingly effective when left unsupervised.

Wednesday brings the first official DefenseCon 2956 details — a Save the Date drop that starts laying out what to expect from the event. The recent SSN/CATV Newsflash already offered an early hint, with Drake Interplanetary CEO Anden Arden making an appearance that pointed to what this year's show has in store.

On Saturday, RSI will join a Bar Citizen in Xi'an, China. This year's theme frames the gathering as a friendly visit between UEE and Xi'an cultures, with festivities scheduled for May 2 at the Gaoxin International Conference Center. Developers are expected to be on the ground for the event.

Sunday closes out the weekend with XGR Divisions returning for another round of its F1-style racing series. Sign-ups are open for Origin 350R pilots, and the track this time takes the field through the cold mountain terrain of microTech on the New Babbage City Tour circuit.
