This Week in Star Citizen – January 26, 2026 | The Impound
The ’verse came out swinging this week, with everything from high‑speed sand‑surfing on Daymar to the first Inside Star Citizen episode of the year. As 2026 kicks off, you’re getting fresh looks at what’s next for the game, a major patch landing imminently, and a surge of community events that prove citizens don’t take downtime lightly.
The year opened with Inside Star Citizen: Alpha 4.6 Patch Report, giving you an early read on Lifeline for Levski. The show highlights the unfolding crisis on the asteroid base and the systems arriving to help players deal with it. CIG also released the first Monthly Report of 2026, covering development across Alpha 4.5, 4.6, and onward.
Over the weekend, the Daymar Rally once again tested nerves, machines, and friendships with a punishing 510 km race across Crusader’s moon. Seven hundred fifty‑four competitors and more than 2,400 vehicles from 38 countries turned the desert into a rolling convoy of dust, determination, and broken suspensions. ATMO Esports will be publishing the official results soon, but you can already catch the replay on Twitch if you want to relive the madness.
ATMO Esports is also bringing the community together IRL next month with Enter ATMOSPHERE 2956 in Sydney. Racing demonstrations, dogfighting showcases, and meet‑ups will anchor the studio’s first return to Australia in a decade.

Patch Notes, FAQs, and the catch‑all thread will go up alongside the release, and a Roadmap Update and Roundup will follow once the build is deployed, including new cards for Alpha 4.6 and 4.7.
Friday brings the latest RSI Weekly Newsletter, and across the racing scene, registrations open for Anzia Racing’s Crux Cup TEC 2956, Crux Cup 24H, and the new Koa e Kue’xyiing 2956.
Saturday wraps things up with two Bar Citizens: one in Bordeaux, France, and one in Euless, Texas. If you’re nearby, swing in and meet fellow pilots face‑to‑face.

Vision Quest Truth
Under the banner of “Smuggling Origin 300,” this strange, almost dreamlike dispatch weaves through planetary oddities and cryptic encounters. Pinecone, a poisonous main‑sequence dwarf, sits on the far edge of the green band, overlooked next to Kallis VI—at least according to one very opinionated engineer. The Hive, a high‑pressure coreless world, hides deeper mysteries: a cache of Kr’Thak weapons and machines, and a Being none too pleased with the answers it received from a nervous crew. It’s a reminder that the universe is vast, strange, and not always inclined to explain itself.
