What to know
The Greycat MDC is a single-seat mobile defense vehicle built around a Size 1 point-defense turret. Its automated tracking package watches for missiles, torpedoes, and other fast incoming threats while the driver patrols remote industrial sites and ground operations.
MDC specifications
A moving protective bubble for a remote worksite
The standard MRX Torrent uses ballistic fire and dedicated search, detection, and tracking software to intercept incoming ordnance. Optional laser and missile point-defense turrets let an owner change the response while keeping the same compact Greycat chassis.

Security equipment that can relocate with the operation
A fixed defense protects one location. The MDC can move with miners, cargo teams, vehicles, or a changing perimeter, bringing its tracking system and small cargo supply to the place that needs coverage next.

Development note: The MDC is flight ready and entered the live game in Alpha 4.4.0. Because Star Citizen remains in active development, specifications, features, and imagery may change over time.
MDC's weapons and protection
Terrain choice, target information, and the tracked Size 1 turret built to intercept incoming ordnance help the MDC protect the people or vehicles operating around it.

The standard Size 1 ballistic system searches for and engages missiles, torpedoes, and other fast incoming threats.
Compatible laser and missile point-defense options let the owner change how the MDC answers incoming ordnance.
Dedicated detection and tracking systems handle threats that move too quickly for ordinary manual observation.
The crew coordinates movement, targets, and the location of friendly forces from one vehicle.
Terrain and hull position determine which threats the gun battery can reach without exposing the whole MDC.
The MDC point-defense suite
The MDC carries an MRX Torrent Size 1 ballistic point-defense turret with dedicated search, detection, and tracking software. Optional laser and missile point-defense turrets let the owner change how the vehicle protects a remote site from fast incoming threats.

A tracked Size 1 turret built to intercept incoming ordnance
Buildings, terrain, and friendly vehicles must not hide incoming ordnance from the MDC until the last moment.
The standard Torrent turret is designed to search for, follow, and engage missiles, torpedoes, and other rapidly moving contacts.
Alternative turret options let the MDC match its defensive method to the site, expected threat, and available support.
Protecting a site from incoming ordnance
The MDC moves point defense with the operation, using its tracking suite and selected turret to watch for missiles or torpedoes before they reach nearby people, vehicles, or equipment.

-
Position the MDC
Terrain and structures should protect the MDC without hiding the incoming threats its sensors need to detect.
-
Let the tracking system hold the fast contacts with the MDC
Dedicated software searches for, identifies, and follows ordnance that would be difficult to manage through ordinary manual observation.
-
Use the selected point-defense turret with the MDC
Ballistic, laser, and missile options let the owner choose how the MDC engages threats around the protected site.
-
Move the defense as the worksite changes with the MDC
The compact vehicle can follow a changing worksite or leave a position that has become exposed.
MDC: Weapons, protection, and mobility
The MDC brings its tracked Size 1 turret built to intercept incoming ordnance to nearby troops and vehicles, with armor and mobility to fire from cover and relocate when needed.
The compact chassis can patrol uneven ground and reposition as the protected worksite changes.
Two 0.125-SCU boxes carry ammunition, tools, supplies, or equipment for the local defense task.
Internal lockers and weapon racks keep the driver's field gear organized inside the vehicle.
Inside the MDC, clear sightlines and target calls help the crew bring the gun battery onto the greatest threat to nearby units.
One driver places and supports the MDC's automated protection
The point-defense suite handles fast target tracking, leaving the operator to choose the protective position, watch the site, and move the vehicle when coverage or terrain changes.
The operator manages the defensive area, not every projectile
The turret's search and tracking software responds to incoming ordnance while the driver keeps the MDC supplied, positioned, and connected to the people or equipment under protection.
The operator chooses ground that gives the sensors a clear view without leaving the vehicle unnecessarily exposed.
Ballistic, laser, or missile equipment handles the rapid intercept while the driver watches status and changing threats.
A compact chassis lets one operator follow vehicles, cargo, or industrial teams instead of protecting one permanent point.
