Space suits are rated according to their purpose and complexity.
Class I space suits are emergency protection against vacuum, but are not otherwise useful.
Class II space suits are a reasonably light with limited EVA capabilities.
Class III space suits add on armor protection.
Class IV space suits are specified for military operation, combining armor, self-repair, tactical displays, and limited EVA capabilities.
Class V space suits improve on Class IV. Little else is known of them.
Class VI space suits are specified as combat armor, adding on significant bulk and useful in boarding operations.
Class VII space suits improve on Class VI with heavy mechanisation to enable the wielding of heavy weapons.
Class VIII space suits are intended for long-term operation in space, utilising a full Manned Maneuvering Unit.
Class IX space suits are fully mechanised exosuits, including the Titan exosuit brand.
