A research company constructed facilities on Lanisto to observe nearby Tyrol A, a late-stage red giant ready to go supernova. The star has not yet entered its nova stage, however, and the company ran out of funding, leading to the abandonment of all research facilities. Small communities of smugglers, squatters, and refugees now occupy these facilities, and have nicknamed their home Front Row.
