Hadesian Ruins

The Hadesians were an ancient alien civilization that lived in the Hades system around 300,000 years ago. They were intelligent, spacefaring, and powerful enough to settle several worlds in their own system. They never became an interstellar empire. By the time Humans found Hades, the Hadesians were already gone, leaving only ruins, artifacts, and the scars of a massive war.

StatusExtinct

No living Hadesians are known. Everything we know comes from ruins, remains, and recovered artifacts.

Extinction~300,000 BCE

The main theory is that their civilization collapsed during an interplanetary civil war.

DiscoverySEY 2531

Dynamo Corporation mapped and registered the system in 2531 after earlier hidden jump-point data surfaced.

TerritoryHades System

Their civilization spread across the Hades system, but there is no confirmed evidence that they reached other stars.

Chapter 01 / What we know

A civilization known through ruins

The Hadesians are not known through first contact, trade, or diplomacy. They are known through archaeology. Their buildings, weapons, remains, and ruined planets are the only records left behind.

The evidence points to a sentient species that achieved spaceflight and built settlements on several worlds, including Hades I, II, III, and IV. They could travel between planets, trade across their system, and maintain a shared culture.

What they apparently did not do was leave the Hades system. There is no confirmed sign that they discovered jump points or expanded into other star systems.

Archive / Basic timeline

The rise and fall of Hades

  1. Pre-collapse

The Hadesians develop spaceflight and begin settling multiple planets in their home system.

  2. No jump age

They travel and trade between planets, but they do not appear to reach other star systems.

  3. ~300k BCE

A devastating civil war breaks out between Hadesian worlds. This is the leading theory for how the species died out.

  4. 2531 / 2515

Humans eventually rediscover the system. Dynamo Corporation maps and registers it in 2531, after earlier jump-point information comes to light.

  5. Modern study

Modern researchers study the Hadesians through ruins, artifacts, damaged worlds, and the physical evidence left behind.

Hadesian civilization and morphology
Chapter 02 / What they were like

Tall, strange, and clearly intelligent

Hadesians are usually described as tall beings, roughly seven to eight feet high, with bulky central bodies, thin appendages, and long muscular arms.

Their cities and settlements show that they were organized, advanced, and capable of major engineering. They were not a primitive species. They had technology, travel, infrastructure, and enough power to reshape or destroy worlds.

The hardest part is what we still do not know. We do not know their politics, their beliefs, or what pushed them into a war so destructive that almost nothing survived.

Extinction theory

The civil war explanation is the main theory, but the exact cause of the war is still unknown.

Local spaceflight

The Hadesians reached several planets in Hades, but there is no confirmed evidence that they left their system.

Archaeology

Everything we know comes from dig sites, ruins, remains, artifacts, and later research.

Chapter 03 / Why Hades matters

A warning left in stone and ash

Most alien histories in Star Citizen begin with contact. The Hadesian story begins after the ending. Humans arrived long after the species had risen, spread across its system, fought a terrible war, and disappeared.

That is what makes them important. Hades is not just a lost system full of ruins. It is a warning about what can happen when a civilization becomes powerful enough to reach other worlds, but not wise enough to survive its own conflicts.
