Constellation Mk V Paints: Five Finishes for the Centaurus

Constellation Mk V Centaurus in its grey and white Factory Standard finish

Purple and silver, bold red or a bright blue hull: the Centaurus wears its new colours well. Compare the five Mk V paints against the factory finish before choosing your favourite.

The Constellation Mk V Centaurus has five named paint options: Blackthorn, Convergence, Heritage, Patrician and Magnitude. They sit alongside its grey-and-white Factory Standard finish, shown above. The choice runs from restrained purple and silver to bright red or blue, and the broad hull makes those colour choices hard to miss.

These are Mk V finishes. The older Mk IV paint range belongs to a separate generation, so check the compatible ship on the individual listing rather than relying on the Constellation name alone. A paint listing supplies the cosmetic livery, not the ship. The views below use the same official hangar angle, making it easier to compare where each colour falls across the Centaurus.

Blackthorn: purple, black and silver

Blackthorn keeps much of the upper hull dark, with purple panels around the flanks and engine housings. Silver breaks up the larger surfaces without the bright orange or yellow edging found on several of the other finishes. It is the more subdued colour choice here, particularly beside Heritage and Magnitude.

Convergence: blue with yellow highlights

Convergence puts blue across the hull and uses yellow to pick out its edges and smaller details. The muted blue in this hangar view gives it a different character from Magnitude’s much brighter blue plating. If you like the blue family, the yellow-versus-orange contrast is an easy way to choose between the two.

Heritage: red over a black base

Heritage is the bold red option, with black areas and yellow trim providing the contrast. The red reaches across the nose, outer hull and engine housings, while darker upper panels keep the ship’s layered shape visible. Of these five schemes, it makes the strongest departure from the cool greys of Factory Standard.

Patrician: white, grey and orange

Patrician brings a much lighter finish to the Centaurus. White and grey cover the main surfaces, with orange accents tracing the nose and outer edges. It stays close to the factory finish’s pale palette while giving the ship a warmer accent colour. Patrician was marked sold out at The Impound when checked on 14 October 2026; its listing is included for reference.

Magnitude: bright blue and orange

Magnitude pairs blue plating with a black base and orange accents. Its brighter, more saturated blue stands apart from Convergence, with orange replacing the yellow highlights. The dark panels give the blue sections a clear outline across the top of the ship.

Choose the finish for your Mk V

For a quieter scheme, start with Blackthorn; for a light hull, look at Patrician. Convergence and Magnitude give you two quite different blue treatments, while Heritage puts red at the centre of the design. These are visual choices, not equipment upgrades.

The Constellation paint collection includes both generations, so keep the Mk V name in view when browsing. Availability can change. For the ship beneath the paint, our Centaurus feature covers its weapons, cargo space, crew areas and Skylark.
