Star Citizen Roadmap: Constellation Arrives, Planet Subdivision Targets 4.11
Four RSI additions reach Released status while Nyx I becomes the first planned destination for smaller, dynamically assigned planetary server territories.
The Constellation has arrived in two generations at once. The 9 October roadmap update marks the Mk IV Gold Standard refit, Mk V Centaurus, RSI Skylark and Discovery Month event as Released under Alpha 4.10. Further ahead, Alpha 4.11 gains a tentative target that could change how a busy planet is shared between servers: DGS Planet Subdivision, beginning with Nyx I.
For players, those are two very different kinds of news. The Constellation work and event are part of the current release. Planet subdivision is a planned technical step, with its Alpha 4.11 status still Tentative. There is no confirmed launch day for that feature in this update.
Four additions move straight to Released
Discovery Month brings RSI installations and Defense, Transport and Collection missions to Stanton. The event gives pilots and ground crews several ways to contribute, rather than requiring everyone to follow the same combat route.
The Mk IV Gold Standard card covers the familiar Constellation family's art and gameplay refit: physical components, better cockpit visibility, a refreshed HUD and the wider ship update. Beside it sits the Mk V Centaurus, described as a multirole, multicrew Constellation built for cargo, combat and other work.
The fourth addition is the RSI Skylark, the snub fighter carried within the new Constellation hull. Discovery Month provides the practical route described so far: completing the named Constellation Rental Offer mission grants a five-day Centaurus rental with the Skylark included.

Nyx I is first in line for planet subdivision
A busy planet puts a great deal of work in one place. Players, vehicles and objects can gather around several settlements or landing areas while still belonging to the same planetary body. DGS Planet Subdivision is intended to divide that body into smaller territories so that one Dynamic Game Server does not have responsibility for the whole planet or moon.
The proposed boundaries come from spatial clusters of entities seeded by Genesis. Those territories can then be assigned dynamically to available DGSs, distributing the simulation work across smaller areas. Nyx I will be the first planet to use the technology.
The Alpha 4.11 target is Tentative. This is a planned step towards finer planetary server meshing, not a claim that every planet already changes server boundaries dynamically. The announcement provides no numerical server-performance improvement, population increase or guaranteed frame-rate gain.
The interesting change is the scale at which the simulation can be allocated. A whole planet no longer has to be treated as one indivisible server territory. That gives the networking team more freedom to spread work where it is needed, although how well it behaves under real player load still has to be established.
Genesis supplies the distribution of entities across the world; subdivision uses their spatial clusters to draw server territories. Building the planet and sharing the simulation work between servers are related jobs, each needed to support the activity players bring to its surface.
New looks at three very different worlds
Nyx I, Nyx II and Nyx III all receive new roadmap images. The change listed for those three cards is artwork, rather than a new release status or a set of newly confirmed arrival dates.
They also promise rather different destinations. Nyx I is the coreless world closest to its star, once considered unsuitable for terraforming and now associated with the experimental Genesis Terraforming programme in the setting's lore. Its role as the first planet for subdivision gives it a separate technical significance in development.
Nyx II's heat, pressure and thick atmosphere make it a harsher prospect. Protective equipment is needed in its high-pressure atmosphere, and its resources come with difficult operating conditions. The golden landscape at the top of this article shows that world.

Nyx III is an ice giant with an unbreathable atmosphere and resources that are difficult to extract. The orbital artwork above gives this distant world a different character from the hot landscape of Nyx II.
How the 1.0 column fits into the schedule
Features in the roadmap's 1.0 column are planned for release in or before Star Citizen 1.0. They do not all have to wait for that version number: as work becomes ready, cards can move left into the appropriate point-patch column.
For now, the useful dates and statuses are straightforward. The new Constellation cards and Discovery Month are Released in the Alpha 4.10 group. DGS Planet Subdivision is Tentative for Alpha 4.11, with Nyx I first. The other Nyx card changes give us fresh artwork, while the broader 1.0 column continues to describe work that can arrive along the way.
