This Week in Star Citizen: Alpha 4.7.2, Nyx Contracts, and LVL UP EXPO
Another Monday, another traffic report from the 'verse. This week’s Star Citizen outlook is centered on Nyx, where Alpha 4.7.2 is set to continue the system’s expansion after 4.7 introduced QV Breaker Stations and social hubs. The headline addition is nearly 100 new contracts spread across 13 archetypes, including the return of entry-level transport work like Courier and Delivery Pilot. A few of those missions also bring new gameplay hooks to Nyx, with select contracts offering unique blueprint rewards.
CIG also looked a little farther down the lane. Evocati testing for Alpha 4.8 is said to be close, with Wave 1 potentially opening before the end of the week if everything stays on course. A new Tech Preview build focused on Instancing is also being prepared for the days ahead. In other words, the test pilots may want to keep one eye on Spectrum and the other on the hangar doors.
What’s happening this week
Wednesday brings Alpha 4.7.2, adding new and returning contract types for the Nyx System.
That same day also delivers the Roadmap Update and Roadmap Roundup, continuing the regular check-in on development progress and what’s next.
On Friday, the latest RSI Newsletter is scheduled to arrive with the usual weekly roundup from across the universe.
Over the weekend, from April 24 through 26, Star Citizen is heading to LVL UP EXPO at the Las Vegas Convention Center alongside AMD and CLX Gaming. CIG says it will have a booth on the show floor with developers present throughout the event to meet attendees, chat, and help get players in-game.
Across all three days in Las Vegas, attendees will be able to jump into Vanduul Swarm using hardware from Virpil and Tobii, see the custom CLX Gaming PC being given away, and join in on multiple giveaways. Extra giveaway entries will be available at the booth, with additional entries for cosplay. A Bar Citizen is also planned for Saturday night as part of the official LVL UP EXPO afterparty.
Meanwhile in Herning, Denmark, the local community is hosting a booth at Gamebox Festival this weekend, followed by a Bar Citizen on Saturday. CIG says a few team members will also drop by to spend time with attendees.
