After having earned his Citizenship Ghata Veras went on to run for a seat on the Governors Council of Lo under the promise to decrease taxes for the lower income individuals. He took office in and successfully managed to lower the tax by 3% planet wide. And in 2941 he was elected Senator of Lo under the Centralist Party. Staying true to his promise he continues to fight for lower taxes, and has fought for many consumer protection laws. In 2943 he proposed the decommissioning of QuarterDeck citing many human-rights violations and concerns of the UEE becoming dependent on antimatter production in a system with multiple Vanduul connections, however this proposal was unsuccessful.
