The crossbow was originally presented as the Iolo Industries Armor-Piercing Crossbow, a cross-promotional item tied to Shroud of the Avatar: Forsaken Virtues. Its manufacturer was later attributed to UltiFlex as the Novian Crossbow, so it is assumed that Iolo Industries was removed from the lore.
