This Week in Star Citizen: September 1-6, 2025

Happy Monday, pilots! I hope you’ve had your caf because this week is an absolute hyperspace jump of activity. Ship Showdown 2955 has boiled down to its ultimate duel, CitizenCon is looming on the horizon, and we’ve got Bar Citizen stops and newsletters lined up tighter than a Javelin in drydock. Let’s dive into what’s coming your way.

Recent Updates

The biggest headline? Ship Showdown 2955 is in its nail-biting finale. It’s the mighty RSI Polaris, capital commander of the stars, against the Anvil Asgard, armored juggernaut of the front line. Only one can be crowned champion, and your votes will decide their fate. Beyond bragging rights, the champ gets a special prize, and all Final Four ships will see exclusive manufacturer-themed rewards delivered at this year’s Intergalactic Aerospace Expo (IAE). Don’t forget: the ongoing Free Fly still lets you test-drive the Elite Eight ships before the showdown closes.

Meanwhile, CitizenCon Direct 2955 is fast approaching. This year’s show is entirely digital, but select Watch Parties will get visits from CIG team members in person. There’s even a contest running until September 30 — submit your own video for a chance to be featured in the livestream and maybe even snag a brand-new ship.

And for those who joined the PAX West Bar Citizen in Seattle last Friday: cheers to you! The Bar Citizen World Tour rolls on, with the next stop set for Lisbon, Portugal this Saturday, September 6. Bring your best stories and maybe an appetite for a pint or two.

Maintenance & Technical Updates

On Wednesday, September 3, all servers and platform services will be taken offline for around 4 hours starting 11:00 UTC. During this time, every gameplay system will be unavailable. Keep an eye on the RSI Status Page for live updates while the team works through the maintenance cycle.
