Speed, protection, and control around the Retaliator's weapons
The Retaliator follows a focused brief. Pilot, turret, sensor, and engineering roles combine to keep several weapons working through a longer fight.
MULTI-CREW GUNSHIP
Turn the Retaliator's crew stations into one sustained battery
Reduced from military-spec and refitted for civilian needs, the Retaliator is a large modular gunship developed by Aegis Dynamics. During work with the Retaliator, pilot, turret, sensor, and engineering roles combine to keep several weapons working through a longer fight.
Combat Spacecraft
The Retaliator combines the two configurable bays inside a long-range multi-crew gunship with the speed, protection, and control needed to bring the package onto its intended target. The Retaliator has a very demanding crew allotment with stations and habitation for a pilot, five gunners, and an engineer. Ships of similar size and capability will rarely exceed four crew members, with only larger ships equalling the Retaliator's operational crew count.

The Retaliator is flight ready and entered the live game in Alpha 3.23.1. Because Star Citizen remains in active development, specifications, features, and imagery may change over time.
Combat package
The Retaliator combines the two configurable bays inside a long-range multi-crew gunship with the handling, protection, sensors, and weapon control needed for its intended targets.

The Retaliator has a very demanding crew allotment with stations and habitation for a pilot, five gunners, and an engineer. Ships of similar size and capability will rarely exceed four crew members, with only larger ships equalling the Retaliator's operational crew count.

Five manned turrets each carry two Size 3 guns: three cover the upper hull and two protect the lower hemisphere.

The Retaliator has the option to swap out two central areas of the ship with various different modular rooms. These can fundamentally alter the function and role of the ship.

The Retaliator's cockpit keeps flight, targeting, and weapon status readable while one pilot manages a fast-changing contact.

Power allocation and cooling determine how long the Retaliator can keep its sensors, shields, and weapons working at the same intensity.
Defining feature
The base Retaliator is built around two interchangeable module bays rather than one permanent payload. Five manned turrets provide overlapping protection while the owner configures the central spaces for cargo, habitation, torpedoes, or another supported role.

The Retaliator is most coherent when its forward and rear bays support the same operation instead of creating two unrelated jobs for the crew.
The turret network covers the ship while the payload, range, and slower handling keep it committed to the crew's plan.
A modular bay changes what the ship can carry, but a prepared crew determines whether that role remains usable through the mission.
Assign, track, concentrate, sustain
The Retaliator turns several crew stations into one battery by assigning sectors, calling targets clearly, and concentrating the two configurable bays inside a long-range multi-crew gunship at the right moment.

Turret sectors and target priorities prevent the Retaliator's crew from wasting several guns on the wrong threat.
For the Retaliator, flight control has to hold useful coverage while sensor calls keep every gunner aware of threats outside the current target.
During work with the Retaliator, weapon grouping and target priority help one pilot manage the two configurable bays inside a long-range multi-crew gunship without losing awareness of the wider fight.
Power, cooling, ammunition, shield condition, and damaged components decide how long the Retaliator can keep its full battery active.
Tactical details
The Retaliator pairs its two configurable bays inside a long-range multi-crew gunship with the handling, protection, and control needed for the targets it was designed to face.

Shielding helps keep the Retaliator and its occupants working when avoiding trouble is no longer possible.

The Retaliator's cargo handling supports the cargo or equipment needed for its modular gunship work.

The Retaliator carries the fuel margin needed to spend more time between established ports.

The Retaliator's movement and control response determine how reliably it can bring the two configurable bays inside a long-range multi-crew gunship onto its intended target.
Crew and operation
The pilot controls the firing geometry while turret crews, sensors, and engineering keep the two configurable bays inside a long-range multi-crew gunship active against the same threat.
A gunship earns its place by sustaining useful fire. The Retaliator's crew must share target priorities, turret coverage, damage information, and power needs instead of running independent fights.

In the Retaliator's workflow, weapon grouping and target priority help one pilot manage the two configurable bays inside a long-range multi-crew gunship without losing awareness of the wider fight.
Power, cooling, shields, ammunition, and repairs decide how long the Retaliator can maintain pressure.
