Recco Battaglia: Mining Blueprints Worth the Trip to Levski
Recco’s story missions lead to mining modules and ore-pod blueprints. Here is where to begin, what to unlock and what to expect in Nyx.
A bigger ore pod is a tempting reason to cross a star system. Recco Battaglia offers something rather better than another terminal full of interchangeable mining jobs: a place in Levski’s working life, with equipment to earn along the way. Her missions pull you into the troubles of Nyx’s independent miners, where a promising industrial career can soon involve protecting someone else’s ship or finding out why a crew has gone quiet.
For a Prospector or MOLE owner, the attraction is obvious. Mining modules and improved ore pods can remain useful long after a particular contract is finished. Recco’s story also gives a returning player somewhere concrete to start, without needing an organisation-sized fleet or a new ship purchase before the evening can begin.
Find Recco at Levski, then follow the story
Recco is an in-person mission giver at Levski, on Delamar in Nyx. Her office uses the new instancing system, so the entrance barrier can remain closed while the room loads. Give it time to open. This is the beginning of a mission chain, rather than a public room that every visitor necessarily enters together.
Accept Welcome to the System and meet Recco to begin. The later chapters require both the preceding story mission and enough reputation from her work. Completing the introduction alone will not immediately open the entire chain.
| Story chapter | Unlock | Blueprint reward |
|---|---|---|
| Welcome to the System | Introductory chapter | Clearcut active module |
| Emergency: Blinding Hope in Trouble | Finish Welcome; Associate, 2,400 reputation | Overrun and Deluge passive modules |
| Idea for Isaac | Finish Blinding Hope; Trusted Associate, 6,000 reputation | MISC Enhanced Ore Pod and GOLEM MC-4 Ore Pod |
These are crafting unlocks. Finishing the third chapter does not leave a complete set of upgraded bags fitted to the ship in your hangar. You still need the appropriate materials and a fabricator to turn the recipe into hardware. That is particularly important if the ore pods are the whole reason for your trip: reaching the reward and equipping the finished item are separate parts of the job.
Blinding Hope and Isaac need more than a mining laser
Welcome to the System introduces the mining work with an Alliance Prospector supplied for the job. Follow the contract’s ship and objective markers instead of assuming your own miner is required for the opening flight. The later chain sends you after a distress call and into Moraine territory, so it soon leaves the quiet rhythm of scanning rocks behind.
For Emergency: Blinding Hope in Trouble, investigate the mining vessel’s last known position and establish what happened to its crew. Idea for Isaac adds a data-drive objective and a ship-combat encounter involving a Gladius, Mantis and Arrow. Have a combat-capable ship available for that chapter; a mining laser will do very little for you when the ambush arrives.
Recco herself has a reason to care about the people out there. She lost part of a leg rescuing colleagues after an accident at a dig site, and now handles resource logistics from behind a desk. Her frustration at being separated from field work gives the missions a more personal foundation than a stranger offering another rock-breaking assignment.

15-SCU MISC pods and 20-SCU Golem pods
The MISC Enhanced Ore Pod holds 15 SCU and fits the Prospector and MOLE. A complete set gives the Prospector 60 SCU across four pods, or the MOLE 120 SCU across eight. The GOLEM MC-4 holds 20 SCU; two bring Drake’s Golem to 40 SCU. The Drake and MISC designs are separate fittings, so craft the pod that belongs on your ship.
| Pod recipe | Material per pod | Complete ship set |
|---|---|---|
| MISC Enhanced | 0.75 SCU iron | Prospector: 4 pods / 3 SCU iron; MOLE: 8 pods / 6 SCU iron |
| GOLEM MC-4 | 0.30 SCU iron | Golem: 2 pods / 0.60 SCU iron |
Unlock the recipe, take suitable iron to a fabricator and build the number of pods needed. Each recipe has a nominal craft time of 1 minute 35 seconds per pod. Material quality requirements still apply at the fabricator; having enough volume alone is not sufficient. Once built, the pods must be fitted in place of the existing containers—earning the blueprint does not modify the ship automatically.
Ore handling also has a current persistence distinction worth understanding before storing a valuable load. Alpha 4.10 extended Long Term Persistence to ore and commodity containers, while stock ore pods supplied with a ship remain part of item recovery and do not preserve their ore through that process. In-game-purchased pods use the newer persistence handling. That distinction concerns recovery across updates; it should not be turned into a blanket guarantee that every container survives every loss.
Those extra bags can change when a good mining run has to end. The upgraded Prospector has 28 SCU more room than its standard fit, so finding another worthwhile deposit need not mean abandoning it because the fourth stock pod is already full. It remains a one-laser mining ship; the extra storage extends the load, not the size of rock the laser can crack.
Alliance ships sit farther along the reputation track
Recco’s reputation progression also includes Alliance variants of the Golem, Prospector and MOLE. Those sit farther along the progression than the introductory blueprint chain. Reaching the relevant rank opens a reward contract; it is not an automatic ship delivery simply for filling a reputation bar.
For someone who already likes their mining ship, the module and ore-pod recipes are a sensible first goal. There is no need to treat the longest ship grind as the only worthwhile outcome. Finish the story, craft the equipment you actually want, and the trip can already have improved the ship you came with.
Repeatable jobs also give the reputation climb more variety. After Isaac, the available work includes salvage and blackbox retrieval alongside Moraine-related assignments. Pick contracts your equipment can handle rather than treating every reputation point as another mandatory mining trip.
Missing chapters in Alpha 4.10.1
Alpha 4.10.1 includes a fix for the second and third story missions failing to generate on busy shards. That makes older reports of an entirely blocked chain less useful as a description of the current build, although it does not guarantee every session will be trouble-free. A missing chapter can also mean there is more reputation work to do; check the current contract requirements before assuming that another visit to the office will force it to appear.
Recco is worth visiting because these rewards feed directly back into a mining career. Nyx offers a story to follow, equipment to build and a reason to keep working with the same people. For a pilot who wants their next mining session to lead somewhere, that is a much better invitation than another promise of the biggest possible payout.
