The Impound summary

What to know

The Aegis Sabre Raven is the high tech variant of the Sabre designed for intelligence missions. For the Sabre Raven, EMP, quantum control, sensors, or other electronic systems create an opening that ordinary guns cannot produce on their own.

Sabre Raven's electronic warfare systems

With the two EMP generators, the Sabre Raven can briefly interfere with a target's systems and give its pilot or allies time to act. Two EMP generators replace the Raven's missile racks, with one generator fitted inside each ordnance bay. The Raven's avionics module has been completely overhauled to include some of the most advanced hardware and software available, and it has an increased data storage for intelligence missions.

How the Sabre Raven disables a target

With the Sabre Raven, EMP, quantum control, sensors, or other electronic systems create an opening that ordinary guns cannot produce on their own.

Development note: The Sabre Raven is flight ready and entered the live game in Alpha 3.0.0. Because Star Citizen remains in active development, specifications, features, and imagery may change over time.

The Sabre Raven's control package

The Sabre Raven combines the two EMP generators with the sensors, movement, and weapons needed to turn a short opening into a completed interception.

Improved Avionics Suite & Storage

The Raven's avionics module has been completely overhauled to include some of the most advanced hardware and software available, and it has an increased data storage for intelligence missions.

Target identification on the Sabre Raven

The Sabre Raven must confirm the target and range before using the two EMP generators, especially near friendly or civilian ships.

Power demand on the Sabre Raven

The operator must watch power draw and heat while the specialist equipment is running.

The Raven's dual-EMP stealth package

The Sabre Raven combines two EMP generators with a lighter stealth-fighter weapon package. Its strength is reaching an effective disruption range with less warning, then coordinating the pulse with allied fire or the pilot's own limited guns.

Approach Use the Raven's signature control before charging the EMPs

The disruption system works best when the target has less time to increase distance or prepare a response.

Pulse Coordinate both EMP generators against one target

The pilot can fire the EMPs together for a stronger disruption or separately to create two openings for nearby ships.

Follow-through Let allied weapons exploit the disrupted systems

The Raven gives up part of a standard Sabre's firepower, so a coordinated group can make better use of the opening it creates.

Electronic Warfare in action

A control mission in the Sabre Raven moves from identification to restraint, with the two EMP generators creating the short window needed to secure the target.

  1. Choose the target system for the Sabre Raven to disrupt

On the Sabre Raven, electronic warfare works best when the pilot knows whether mobility, shields, sensors, or quantum travel must be interrupted.

  2. Commit only when the target is within disruption range

The Sabre Raven should know whether it will attack, capture, or withdraw before bringing the two EMP generators into range.

  3. Follow the Sabre Raven's disruption with an attack

Aboard the Sabre Raven, weapons or allied ships need to act while the target is confused, disabled, or unable to leave.

  4. Use the Sabre Raven to warn nearby ships as the target recovers

On the Sabre Raven, clear calls about duration, recovery, and the next target stop the team from relying on a disruption that has already ended.

The equipment behind the Sabre Raven's tactical effect

The Sabre Raven uses its two EMP generators to disrupt or restrict a target, then uses its sensors and conventional weapons to take advantage of the opening.

01 Low Profile

On top of the standard Sabre's already low-signature, the Raven improves its stealth profile by cutting down the wingspan of the original Sabre.

02 Sabre Raven sensor data

Identification and range information help the Sabre Raven use the two EMP generators against the chosen target.

03 Specialist controls on the Sabre Raven

For the Sabre Raven, a separate control station lets the crew operate the two EMP generators while still monitoring flight and defensive systems.

04 Supporting weapons on the Sabre Raven

The Sabre Raven's conventional weapons let the pilot act while the target is disrupted by the two EMP generators.

The Sabre Raven makes a target vulnerable to nearby ships

The pilot has to identify the system that matters, bring the two EMP generators into range, and make sure allies are ready to exploit the disruption.

Electronic attack with the Sabre Raven

The disruption created by the Sabre Raven is temporary. The Sabre Raven's pilot needs to coordinate with nearby ships so they can use that opening to capture the target, destroy it, or pass safely.

Targeting Choose the system the Sabre Raven will disrupt

For the Sabre Raven, EMP, quantum control, sensors, or other electronic systems create an opening that ordinary guns cannot produce on their own.

Effect Attack while the Sabre Raven has disabled the target

Aboard the Sabre Raven, timing matters because containment or disruption from the two EMP generators lasts only for a limited window.

Teamwork Report the target's condition from the Sabre Raven

The Sabre Raven adds the most value when nearby ships know what changed on the target and how long they have to act.
