Scorpius Guide, Specs & Features
What to know
The Scorpius is a two-seat heavy fighter developed by Roberts Space Industries Applied Innovations division. With the Scorpius, the pilot controls position while a second crew member keeps a turret or weapon station active across a wider part of the fight.

The Scorpius' combat role
The Scorpius is a two-seat fighter built to keep the eight Size 3 guns and sixteen Size 2 missiles on a target through turns and changing attack angles. With 4x Size 3 ballistic cannons, the Scorpius' turret offers broad range, coverage, and firepower. It can be operated by either a dedicated operator who has full control of the turret or it can be slaved by the pilot in a restricted. Features two 1.5 SCU storage units providing enough space for both crew members.

Combat systems aboard the Scorpius
Aboard the Scorpius, the pilot controls position while a second crew member keeps a turret or weapon station active across a wider part of the fight.

Development note: The Scorpius is flight ready and entered the live game in Alpha 3.17.1. Because Star Citizen remains in active development, specifications, features, and imagery may change over time.
Fighting equipment aboard the Scorpius
With the eight Size 3 guns and sixteen Size 2 missiles, the Scorpius can keep firing as a target moves through a turn. Clear communication between pilot and gunner is the advantage of the two-seat layout.

Also included is a drop-down weapon holder supporting 2 rifles, 2 pistols, and 2 small gadgets (such as the Multi-Tool or Paramed Medical Device).
The cockpit puts flight, targeting, weapons, and damage information in front of the pilot.
Heavy sensor, shield, and weapon use can strain the power system, so the crew must watch heat and output.
Fighting equipment aboard the Scorpius
Four forward Size 3 guns sit under the pilot, while a second crew member controls a rail-mounted turret with four more Size 3 guns across a broad arc. Sixteen Size 2 missiles complete the two-seat loadout.

Eight Size 3 guns and sixteen Size 2 missiles
The Scorpius's pilot keeps the target inside the turret's firing arc instead of treating the second seat as an occasional extra trigger.
The gunner can keep the eight Size 3 guns and sixteen Size 2 missiles working while the nose turns, warn about another attacker, or cover a change of target.
Short, direct calls let both Scorpius crew members shift their weapons without following different targets.
Choosing targets for the Scorpius' combat package
A fight in the Scorpius works when pilot and gunners share one picture, use the eight Size 3 guns and sixteen Size 2 missiles deliberately, and keep the weapon stations supplied and protected.

-
Let the turret stay on target as the ship turns
The Scorpius' pilot should hold a path that keeps the target inside the gunner's coverage instead of treating the second seat as an afterthought.
-
Track threats outside the pilot's view
For the Scorpius, the turret can keep firing while the pilot turns away, warn about another attacker, or protect the fighter during a change of target.
-
Combine the Scorpius' weapons
The Scorpius gets the most from the eight Size 3 guns and sixteen Size 2 missiles by staying close enough to hit without giving the target a simple shot back.
-
Call every target change before it happens
Short, clear calls let the Scorpius's pilot and gunner shift fire together instead of tracking different threats.
Scorpius' combat equipment in detail
The Scorpius combines its eight Size 3 guns and sixteen Size 2 missiles with the handling, protection, and targeting systems needed for its combat role.

The Scorpius features two unique wing designs that enhance efficiency, optimize cruising speed, and improve combat capabilities during flight, while also reducing its profile when on the ground.
The Scorpius carries weapons for protection against nearby threats.
For the Scorpius, responsive handling helps the pilot keep the guns and missiles on target through tight turns.
For the Scorpius, sensors and weapon controls help the pilot identify a suitable target and keep the guns and missiles aimed at it.
Pilot and gunner give the Scorpius a wider attack
The pilot controls speed and orientation while the second seat keeps the eight Size 3 guns and sixteen Size 2 missiles working beyond the nose of the ship.

Two-seat combat
The Scorpius gunner tracks targets outside the pilot's view and keeps the turret firing through turns. Short calls keep both seats focused on the same threat.
The Scorpius' pilot controls position while a second crew member keeps a turret or weapon station active across a wider part of the fight.
The pilot uses the Scorpius' speed and handling to bring the eight Size 3 guns and sixteen Size 2 missiles onto the target, then moves before the target can return fire.
Short calls about range, direction, and priority keep both Scorpius crew members on the same engagement.
