There's little bits and pieces of LLMs that are leveraged for toolsets. It's one of the best query languages in the world, where any kind of data can be queried in any language and the AI will figure its way through it. For example a developer can ask the LLM to query the entire dataforge directory and ask "What's the recoil characteristics on every single weapon, is there one that's way out, show me a diagram", and the AI will parse through it and show the diagram.
NPC AI
On the scale of Star Citizen, CIG would need billions of conversations happening with NPCs, but that would mean people to write that much. AI would solve that scaling problem, but technically it becomes very problematic. AI needs powerful GPU hardware to run on, while gamers don't want a large chunk of their GPU being used just for that. This means a CPU approach, which is going to be slower and needs to be worked smarter. Marco Corbetta has some ideas and is working on some R&D.
Voice AI
CIG partenered with ElevenLabs, a company that has built an AI voice platform.
Other AI
If AI can be included, it could potentially be used in various says, such as a MobiGlas assistant, a MobiGlas copilot, custom in-game advertisements, random advertisements, random text, etc.
