Cryopod

A cryopod is a type of enclosed machine or medical device that is used to put people in a state of suspended animation.

Once enclosed within the cryopod, the subject is injected with a chemical that induces deep sleep. The device then performs a series of precisely timed temperature drops to create and maintain a coma-like state. Personal cryopods can be controlled from within and programmed to awaken an occupant at a later date. Hospitals utilize specialized medical cryopods to sedate grievously injured or ill patients over the long to aid in the healing process. Cryopods are also favored by some law enforcement organizations and bounty hunters for safer criminal transport.
