One of the first extraterrestrial locations Humanity has ever mined, Mercury is now mostly stripped of its natural resources. The extreme conditions on the planet led to frequent equipment malfunction, killing hundreds of workers.

In 2398 the United Nations of Earth constructed a memorial to workers who died while working on the planet.
