History
Seal Corporation was one of the earliest companies to develop and sell modern shield technology to civilians once the technology was declassified, and it has been in the industry centuries longer than its present-day competition. For a time, the term "seal" was synonymous with "shield", and Sammy the Seal Corp seal remains one of the most recognizable mascots in human space. Although the company has lost some market share to competitors over the years, its shields are still the most widely used brand, and its products are widely available throughout human space.
