Roadmap Roundup - August 27, 2025 | Star Citizen Development Update

Every two weeks, I like to take you behind the curtain of development to explain what’s shifting and why. This isn’t just about reading a list of features – it’s about understanding the path Star Citizen and Squadron 42 are carving toward 1.0. And remember: the 1.0 column isn’t a far-off dream. It’s a staging ground of features that can drop into earlier patches once they’re ready. So, sometimes what you’re waiting for shows up sooner than expected.

With that, let’s get into this week’s Roadmap Roundup.

Version & Scope

Date: August 27, 2025
Focus: Updates across Release View 4.3.0 and 4.3.1

Key Changes

4.3.0 – Locked and Released

  • Sniper Light Armor "Geist" – Stealthy protection for those long-distance operators.
  • Wikelo Light Combat Stealth Suit – A new stealth option for those who prefer shadows to firefights.
  • ASD Light Combat Stealth Suit – Another covert option straight from ASD design labs.
  • New Hairstyles – Fresh looks for your character, because even a hardened merc deserves good hair days.
  • Dynamic Snow – Weather that shifts and piles up, changing both look and gameplay.
  • Ladder Improvements – Cleaner transitions and fewer awkward shimmy moments.
  • Onyx Facilities – The first iteration of the abandoned ASD research complexes spread across Stanton.
  • Wikelo Special Ships – New additions tied to Wikelo’s unique lineup.
  • VOLT Sniper – A precision rifle addition to your arsenal.
  • L-21 Wolf – A new weapon system to round out options.
  • Ship Flight Tuning Changes: Light Fighters – Adjustments rolled out for the Gladius, Arrow, Hawk, Banu Defender, Talon, Blade, Khartu-Al, and Mustang. Expect changes to SCM & NAV speeds, acceleration, and angular speeds. (Released)

4.3.1 – Tentative Horizons

  • RSI Apollo Triage – Introducing the medical variant designed to stabilize and save lives in the depths of space. (Tentative)
  • RSI Apollo Medivac – Heavier armor, dual missile racks, and built for hot-zone extractions. (Tentative)
  • Behring Laser Cannon Art Refactors – Updated geometry and art refresh for the Behring cannons. (Tentative)
  • Onyx Facilities Expansion: Science Wing – Arken Mallor invites you deeper into abandoned ASD complexes, now featuring the ominous Dr. Jorrit’s Lab. Security is light, but danger and mystery remain. (Tentative)
  • AI FPS Turrets – Deploying AI-controlled anti-personnel turrets to add PvE variety and hazards. (Tentative)
  • Mission Pickup on Location – Missions can now appear dynamically in your journal just by entering or approaching key areas. (Tentative)
