Guardian MX at work
More armor, guns, and missiles make the MX less agile than the standard Guardian, but better suited to close attacks against tough targets.
Heavier guns and armor
Hit harder. Get out fast.
The Guardian MX gives up some of the standard Guardian's agility in exchange for more armor, guns, and missiles, giving one pilot more ways to attack a tough target.
Single-seat heavy fighter
The Guardian MX is the heavier armed version of Mirai's single-seat fighter. It is less agile than the standard Guardian, but it gives the pilot more armor, guns, and missiles for attacking larger or tougher targets.

More armor, guns, and missiles make the MX less agile than the standard Guardian, but better suited to close attacks against tough targets.

The Guardian MX is flight ready and entered the live game in Alpha 4.1.1. Because Star Citizen remains in active development, specifications, features, and imagery may change over time.
Mission systems
The MX gives one pilot more guns, missiles, and armor while keeping the speed and maneuverability expected from a Mirai heavy fighter.
More guns let the MX deal more damage than the standard Guardian.
A larger missile load gives the pilot more ways to damage or distract a target before moving in with guns.
Extra armor gives the pilot more protection during close attacks.
Although less agile than the base Guardian, the MX remains notably maneuverable for a heavily armed fighter in its class.
One pilot flies the ship and controls its missiles, guns, and defenses without relying on a second crew member.
The MX uses its extra space and weight for weapons and armor rather than cargo or equipment for other jobs.
Heavier attack package
The pilot can use missiles to damage or distract the target before moving closer. Heavier guns deal the main damage, while added armor gives the MX more protection during the attack.

It suits pilots who want more guns, missiles, and armor than a light interceptor without moving to a larger multi-crew gunship.
One pilot must watch speed and position while also choosing missiles, aiming the guns, and managing the ship's defenses.
The MX is less agile than the standard Guardian, so the pilot should choose a good position before starting the attack.
Single-seat heavy fighter
The Guardian MX combines missiles, heavier guns, and extra armor in one single-seat fighter. The pilot still needs a safe way in and out, but has more weapons to use during the attack.

The pilot selects missiles and guns based on whether the goal is to distract, disable, or destroy the target.
Missiles let the MX damage or distract the target before the pilot comes within range of the main guns.
The heavier guns deal the most damage when the pilot can keep the nose of the ship pointed at the target.
Extra armor does not make the MX invulnerable. The pilot still needs to leave before the target's support ships arrive.
Built to hit harder
The Guardian MX is less agile than the standard model, but its added weapons and armor make it better suited to attacking larger or tougher targets.

The larger gun package deals more damage when the pilot keeps the target in front of the ship.

Extra missiles let the pilot damage or distract a target before closing in with the main guns.

Added armor gives the MX more protection when it has to stay close to a dangerous target.

Even with extra mass and weapons, the MX remains fast and maneuverable for a ship in its class.
Crew and logistics
Crew roles, workload, and support needs shape how this single-seat heavy fighter performs after departure.
The pilot handles flying, missiles, guns, and defenses alone. Choosing weapons before launch and planning the escape route are just as important as aiming during the fight.
