October Runic Gear: Monolith Armour, R97 and M80 Paint
Weathered gold, black panels and geometric etchings tie October’s Runic armour, shotgun and M80 paint together. Take a closer look at the finish and the equipment beneath it.
Runic carries the same weathered black-and-gold treatment from a Monolith armour suit to a Gemini R97 shotgun and an Origin M80. October 2026’s finish brings geometric etchings to all three, with broad lines across the ship and denser patterns on the personal equipment. It is a coordinated look that remains recognisable when the pilot leaves the cockpit.
Black and gold on Monolith’s heavy plates
Kilgore and Poole’s Monolith is the heavy-armour foundation of the set. Its protection comes from triple-laminated ceramic plating; Runic supplies the weathered finish around that underlying design. The gold surfaces and black panels give the suit a markedly different character from plain utility equipment, while the fine markings make the larger plates worth a closer look.
The R97 still gives you two shot patterns
The matching Gemini R97 has a wide-spread mode for close engagements and a tighter pattern for longer shots. Runic keeps that flexibility and adds the etched black-and-gold finish.

There is a little Gemini history behind that flexibility. In the company’s in-universe history, the redesigned R97 retained co-founder Clem’s under-barrel reload arrangement while gaining its two fire modes. Runic dresses that familiar weapon in the same etched pattern as the armour.
For a very different treatment of the same shotgun, The Impound’s R97 Kismet listing shows a pink-and-black Coramor finish. Its bright colours are a striking alternative to Runic’s weathered gold.
The M80 wears the pattern on a larger scale
The vehicle part of Runic is an Origin M80 paint. Across the M80’s upper surfaces, the larger geometric lines give the pattern more room than it has on a weapon or armour plate. Seen from above, the lines draw your eye along the nose and out across the wings.

If you enjoy matching your pilot’s equipment to their ship, Runic carries the look all the way from the armour rack to the hangar. The M80 paint brings the largest canvas; the R97 and Monolith suit reward the closer look.
