Meet the Guardian MX
The Guardian MX is the heavier armed version of Mirai's single-seat fighter. It is less agile than the standard Guardian, but it gives the pilot more armor, guns, and missiles for attacking larger or tougher targets.
Development note: The Guardian MX is flight ready and entered the live game in Alpha 4.1.1. Because Star Citizen remains in active development, specifications, features, and imagery may change over time.
A harder-hitting Guardian
The MX gives one pilot more guns, missiles, and armor while keeping the speed and maneuverability expected from a Mirai heavy fighter.
More guns let the MX deal more damage than the standard Guardian.
A larger missile load gives the pilot more ways to damage or distract a target before moving in with guns.
Extra armor gives the pilot more protection during close attacks.
Although less agile than the base Guardian, the MX remains notably maneuverable for a heavily armed fighter in its class.
One pilot flies the ship and controls its missiles, guns, and defenses without relying on a second crew member.
The MX uses its extra space and weight for weapons and armor rather than cargo or equipment for other jobs.

Four Size 4 Rhino repeaters give the Guardian MX sustained direct fire. Two bespoke wing racks carry twelve Size 2 missiles each, giving its single pilot twenty-four guided weapons before the guns take over.

Choose the target, hit hard, and get clear
The Guardian MX combines missiles, heavier guns, and extra armor in one single-seat fighter. The pilot still needs a safe way in and out, but has more weapons to use during the attack.

The pilot selects missiles and guns based on whether the goal is to distract, disable, or destroy the target.

Use missiles before moving closer
Missiles let the MX damage or distract the target before the pilot comes within range of the main guns.

Keep the target in front of the guns
The heavier guns deal the most damage when the pilot can keep the nose of the ship pointed at the target.

Plan a safe way out
Extra armor does not make the MX invulnerable. The pilot still needs to leave before the target's support ships arrive.

The Guardian MX is less agile than the standard model, but its added weapons and armor make it better suited to attacking larger or tougher targets.

Who the Guardian MX is for
The Guardian MX is controlled by one pilot, who manages flight, two Size 5 guns, sixteen Size 3 missiles, shields, and damage awareness.
One pilot flies and controls every weapon
The pilot handles flight, targeting, guns, missiles, and defenses alone. Choosing a clear weapon setup before launch keeps the cockpit manageable once combat begins.
The Guardian MX mounts four Size 4 CF-447 Rhino repeaters, doubling the base Guardian's gun count while keeping every shot under one pilot's control.
Each bespoke wing rack carries twelve Size 2 Ignite II missiles, giving the MX a large guided payload for a single-seat fighter.
Flying, target selection, four guns, twenty-four missiles, and the ship's defenses all share one cockpit, so a clear attack plan matters before contact.
