He has created environment paintings for the T.āl system and worked on spaceships bridge interiors.

Other Works

He first worked on Inspector Gadget. He became interested in directing as he was interested in storytelling, so he became a director eventually working on Madeline. He also worked among others on Where is Waldo and Dennis the Menace. He spent seven years with by DIC working on various projects between L.A, Tokyo and Paris. He spent about 10-12 years in animation.

He worked in the theme park industry with Landmark Entertainment and Disney Imagineering on Disneyland parks and expansions across the globe doing visual development for Epcot, Zootopia, The Guardians of the Galaxy, The Pirates of the Caribbean, Avatar, Star Wars and Avengers.

He worked on movies such as Foundation, Alita: Battle Angel, Alpha, Aquaman, Ready Player One, The Suicide Squad, Independence Day: Resurgence, Tomorrowland, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Guardians of the Galaxy, 300: Rise of an Empire, Total Recall (2012), Tron: Legacy, Star Trek, Star Wars: Episodes 2-3, Knowing, I, Robot, Red Planet, Titan A.E, Dragon Heart 2 as well as Aquaman 2, Madame Web, The Masters of the Universe, The Fifth Element and Shang-chi.

He was the visual design director for Cyan Worlds, Inc. for several years. He was responsible for creating and overseeing the look of the game Uru: Ages Beyond Myst, Uru: The Path of the Shell and Myst V: End of Ages. He was the creative visual director at Midway Games in Chicago for Stranglehold and was art director for Rage for ID Software. He also worked on Elder Scrolls: Legend and Fallout 4.

He worked for Wizards of the Coast doing artwork for Magic The Gathering.

He has also produced over two hundred book covers and numerous comic book covers and editorial illustrations for The National Geographic, Popular Science, Tor Books, Pyr, Penguin and Random House, Dark Horse and Radical Comics.

He has participated in the architectural visualization of several mega-projects in Saudi Arabia including Neom, Neom Bay, Qiddiya and Al-Ula.

Early Life

Aged 6 in 1968, he first wanted to be an astronaut, a year before we walked on the moon. He was drawning rockets and spaceships. He didn't have the right to watch TV so he speent time in movie theaters watching fantasy and science fiction movies. He started drawning monsters and aliens.

As a teen he went to study at the école supérieure des arts appliqués Duperré in Paris, which n addition to the classic disciplines such as anatomy, perspective, drawing, painting and sculpture, was broad enough to allow him to discover and practice a variety of disciplines such as photography, architecture, advertising and a banquet of other artistic courses.

In the meantime he was watching movies fincluding 2001 A Space Odyssey, Alien, Blade Runner and The Dark Crystal.

He graduated in 1983 and continued his studies at the Gobelins, in the animation department. It was a summer job for 1 month, but eventually 1 month became 2, and then 3, and then they offered to hire him full-time. Finishing the animation program became unnecessary.

  • He worked with Ryan Church on Star Wars Episode 2 and 3.
  • He wrote the Star Wars short story The Fourth Precept for Star Wars: Visionaries, the cover of which was done by Ryan Church.
  • His biggest influences are Bernie Wrightson, John Buscema, Chris Foss, Moebius, Otto Wagner.
  • As a kid he was buying sci-fi books mainly because of the cover art.
