Ironclad Assault at work
Vehicle delivery, troop deployment, direct fire, repair, rearmament, and recovery are combined in one mobile base built to remain useful after touchdown.
Combined-arms deployment
Bring the garage to the battlefield
The Ironclad Assault carries vehicles and troops into battle, then supports them with onboard weapons, repair workshops, fuel, and ammunition.
Heavy combined-arms dropship
The Ironclad Assault is more than an armed freighter. It carries vehicles and troops, helps protect them during deployment, and provides the fuel, ammunition, repairs, and recovery support they need afterward.

Vehicle delivery, troop deployment, direct fire, repair, rearmament, and recovery are combined in one mobile base built to remain useful after touchdown.

The Ironclad Assault is flight ready and entered the live game in Alpha 4.8.0. Because Star Citizen remains in active development, specifications, features, and imagery may change over time.
Mission systems
The Assault gives up some cargo space to add troop areas, weapons, and workshops that support vehicles before, during, and after deployment.

The reworked hold carries heavy ground assets and still leaves meaningful capacity for mission cargo and supplies.
Onboard facilities are designed to refuel, rearm, repair, and manufacture components for deployed ground vehicles.
Additional weapons let the Assault help protect troops and vehicles during deployment instead of waiting far from the fighting.
Troop spaces, equipment storage, and rapid deployment routes make the ship a mobile base for combined operations.
The forward route lets heavy vehicles leave in a clear order and reduces the time valuable equipment remains concentrated inside the ship.
The separate command section preserves an independent control craft and another option for the crew if the main hull can no longer remain in place.
Ground force support
The Assault's defining idea begins after the ramp opens. Workshop systems, stores, weapons, and troop support allow the ship to remain part of the operation instead of becoming an empty transport at the edge of the battlefield.

The ship is aimed at groups that already have vehicles and people worth supporting beyond a single drop.
Everyone needs to know the loading order, which vehicles leave first, and which repairs matter most after the force returns.
Repair and combat support consume stores, while the large hull remains a valuable target whenever it stays near the battlefield.
Ground force support
The Assault variant turns the Ironclad layout toward armored warfare. It carries vehicles into the operation, protects the approach, and provides the repair, rearm, and support functions that keep those assets active.

Vehicles, crews, spares, and support stores are organized as one force rather than unrelated cargo.
Additional weapons help the ship protect the deployment instead of behaving like an unarmed carrier at the edge of the fight.
A direct route puts heavy vehicles onto the battlefield quickly and keeps traffic moving in one understandable direction.
Workshops and supply areas let the ship remain a useful mobile base after the first vehicle leaves the hold.
Combined-arms support
The Assault exchanges some freight volume for a vehicle-focused bay, field-service capability, troop support, and the weapons needed to stay relevant after touchdown.

The bay and ramp are arranged to move armored vehicles out quickly instead of treating them like awkward cargo.

Repair, refuel, rearm, and fabrication concepts let the ship support ground assets after they leave the hold.

Additional direct-fire weapons let the Assault protect the operation rather than immediately withdrawing from the area.

Internal walkways and troop areas connect the crew, vehicle bay, and equipment inside one mobile base.
Crew and logistics
Crew roles, workload, and support needs shape how this heavy combined-arms dropship performs after departure.
An Assault mission includes flight crew, ship engineers, vehicle crews, and support personnel. Their movement and priorities must be planned as one operation.
