Heavy ordnance, heavy crew commitment
The Retaliator brings serious torpedo power, but it also brings more stations, more coordination, and a larger support burden than most ships sent after the same target.
HEAVY STRIKE
Carry capital-class torpedoes to the heart of the fight
The Retaliator Bomber is Aegis' long-range, multi-crew heavy strike ship. Its torpedo modules deliver the threat, while a durable hull, defensive turrets, engineering access, and a large crew support the dangerous approach and exit.
Heavy Strike
The Bomber variant fills the Retaliator's modular bays with heavy torpedo equipment. It is not a quick single-seat strike craft: the ship asks a coordinated crew to fly, defend, maintain, and position a large airframe for the short moment when its torpedoes can change an engagement.

The Retaliator brings serious torpedo power, but it also brings more stations, more coordination, and a larger support burden than most ships sent after the same target.

The Retaliator Bomber is flight ready and entered the live game in Alpha 3.23.1. Because Star Citizen remains in active development, specifications, features, and imagery may change over time.
Strike package
The torpedo modules define the attack, but target information, turret coverage, engineering, armor, and a route clear of the target's defenses are what let the crew release them and return.

Dedicated modules fill the Retaliator's bays with capital-class torpedoes for attacks on large, well-protected targets.

Turret stations cover the large airframe while the pilot holds the approach and lines up the strike.

A durable hull gives the crew more margin while crossing the defended space around a priority target.

An engineer helps manage damage, power, and the ship's working condition during a mission that can place the Retaliator under sustained pressure.

The Bomber uses the Retaliator's modular hull, exchanging utility configurations for a dedicated heavy-strike loadout.
Damage checks, rearming, repairs, and crew recovery are substantial parts of preparing the Retaliator for another attack.
Defining feature
With both ordnance modules installed, the Retaliator carries four torpedoes in the front bay and two in the rear. Those bays can instead accept bomb racks for up to 112 Size 3 or 16 Size 5 bombs, while five manned turrets provide ten Size 3 defensive guns.

Installing both torpedo modules gives the Retaliator a six-shot heavy strike load split between its two central bays.
The same bays can trade torpedoes for a high-capacity Size 3 bomb load or sixteen heavier Size 5 bombs.
Ten Size 3 turret guns let a fully crewed Retaliator cover several approaches while the pilot lines up the ordnance run.
Confirm, approach, release, recover
A strike in the Retaliator Bomber is built around one decisive release: find the target, prepare the six torpedoes or a configurable bomb load, deliver it cleanly, and preserve the remaining load.

For the Retaliator Bomber's crew, heavy ordnance should begin with clear identification, friendly positions, and an agreed release condition.
During work with the Retaliator Bomber, route, stealth, escorts, terrain, or defensive stations exist to get the weapon close enough to matter.
The Retaliator Bomber's crew prepares the six torpedoes or a configurable bomb load for one verified target and a planned release window.
In practice aboard the Retaliator Bomber, after release, the crew needs damage information, defensive awareness, and a clear decision about another strike or return for rearm.
Attack details
The Retaliator Bomber carries its six torpedoes or a configurable bomb load as part of an attack system that also depends on identification, approach, release control, and recovery.
The ship is built to carry its crew and heavy weapons to targets that may be far from immediate support.
Pilot, gunners, and engineering staff need clear responsibilities before contact because the Retaliator has more active stations than most bombers.
Route, speed, target confirmation, and release timing determine whether the Retaliator's heavy torpedoes reach the intended ship.
Onboard living spaces support longer assignments and the number of people needed to operate the ship effectively.
Crew and operation
Target confirmation, approach, defense, and the six torpedoes or a configurable bomb load all support the moment when the heavy weapon leaves the ship.
The Retaliator Bomber should not spend its limited heavy ordnance on an uncertain target. The crew has to bring the right weapon to the planned release point.
Bombs or torpedoes give the Retaliator Bomber a focused strike role against targets that justify scarce heavy ordnance.
The Retaliator Bomber's operator watches the result before deciding whether another part of the six torpedoes or a configurable bomb load should be spent.
Defensive stations, route calls, and damage information help the Retaliator Bomber preserve any remaining weapons for another strike.
