Star Citizen heads into a huge week as the Intergalactic Aerospace Expo 2955 opens its hangar doors in the city of Orison and Alpha 4.4.0 – Welcome to Nyx prepares for its live debut. From free-fly festivities to the first-ever Twitch Drops, it’s a busy stretch across the ’verse.

Recent Updates

Last week saw the grand reveal of the Intergalactic Aerospace Expo 2955, landing in Orison from November 20 through December 3. The event brings free access to many of Star Citizen’s most iconic ships and vehicles, with a full Free Fly period throughout its duration.

Meanwhile, Alpha 4.4.0 PTU opened to all waves, letting players explore Nyx through newly activated jump points. The team continues to refine this milestone release by acting on Issue Council reports and player feedback. In parallel, the Tech Preview Wave 1: Engineering test went live, inviting participants to stress-test the new Engineering gameplay systems. That preview will remain open while data collection continues.

Maintenance & Technical Updates

Alpha 4.4.0’s public test phase transitions to Live this week, with server updates and backend maintenance supporting both the Nyx rollout and the start of IAE 2955. Testing on the Engineering Tech Preview also persists, with patch monitoring in effect across the PTU clusters.
