Cosmetic blueprints are an anticipated non-physicalized item that can be used to apply a cosmetic "Paint" to an item, including Ships and Personal equipment.

Unlike regular Blueprint s, Cosmetic blueprints cannot be used alone to craft an Item.
Previously available Ship paint s and cosmetically varied Items will be converted into Cosmetic blueprints to allow for the progressive improvement of items without forcing players to discard their cosmetics.
The system was discussed again as a sort of "Digital licensing" system in an April 2026 Star Citizen Live.
