How to Find and Contribute to a Star Citizen Bug Report
Found a bug, but the search results describe half a dozen different problems? Narrow the Issue Council search, recognise the right report and add evidence from your own session.
A familiar bug may already have a report waiting for your evidence. Start with the Issue Council’s Star Citizen project, which covers Live and PTU. Sign in with your RSI account; contribution access currently requires backer status. If sign-in reports a clock error, synchronise your computer’s clock.
Search the symptom, then read the whole report
Use the dashboard search to describe the affected object, what happened and where. Search checks the original report, not its replies. Several ordinary words mean “any of these”, so adding words alone can broaden your results.

For example, (ship* | vehicle*) + hangar~ combines transport terms with the location. Replace these terms with the object and location involved in your own issue.
Filter for Open, Confirmed or Under Investigation. Results balance relevance, age and internal tracking; an older, closely matching report can be the right one. Read its circumstances before contributing. A shared ship name alone is not enough.
Already have an issue code? Search it directly; a quoted code also finds staff-identified duplicates. To find fixes for a particular build, select Fixed and search the quoted fix-version number.
Add what actually happened to you
Open the matching report and choose Contribute. Select Yes only for an issue you personally encountered on its listed build or later. If you have not experienced it but want to support a fix, use Please Fix. Simply never encountering a bug does not justify No.
Use No with a reason: you tried the reproduction steps without success, believe the behaviour is intended, cannot understand or reproduce an incomplete report, or found an existing duplicate. Explain your attempts and add evidence where possible; for a duplicate, link the matching report.
Choose your actual setup and build—check beneath Launch Game after selecting the correct launcher channel. Add screenshots or video, different reproduction steps, frequency and any workaround, then choose the severity matching your experience. Cosmetic means no gameplay impact; Playable allows a workaround; Hardly Playable covers widespread disruption, lost session progress or a difficult workaround; Critical covers being unable to play, lost long-term progress or needing to leave the game to resolve it. An older active report can take evidence from a newer build.
Check the fix version before starting again
Fixed can refer to an unreleased build and closes contributions. If the fault persists at or beyond that fix version, create a new report. For an archived duplicate, follow its linked report.
