This Week in Star Citizen: 28 September 2026
Ship combat, netcode and a new event keep the test servers busy. Here are the dated plans, Porto gathering and community highlights for 28 September 2026.
The interesting work this week is on the test servers. Ship combat is being tuned, a new in-system event is taking shape in Alpha 4.10.2 PTU, and the Physicalized Entity Netcode overhaul has had another round of scrutiny. For the week beginning 28 September 2026, those tests take priority over a packed programme of announcements. The next new show, 10 From the Community, follows on 5 October.
Netcode and combat changes remain in testing
Players spent the preceding week testing both the Tech Preview and Alpha 4.10.2 on the Public Test Universe. Early feedback on the latest Physicalized Entity Netcode overhaul has been encouraging for the developers, with further improvements identified before its release in an upcoming update. Its Live release remains ahead of it.
The weekend tests also covered ship time-to-kill balancing: how long combat takes to bring down a ship. The teams were examining player feedback and test data to continue tuning it, including the AI modifier for player-versus-environment combat.
Alpha 4.10.2’s new in-system event had begun receiving feedback too. Further PTU builds were planned to add to it, fix issues and refine the experience around the results of testing. Players testing those builds can report bugs through the Issue Council and share feedback in the dedicated Spectrum threads. The event is still on PTU, with more additions and changes to come.
A quieter week, then 10 From the Community
For the week beginning 28 September, Alpha 4.10.2 and upcoming Tech Preview builds remained the focus. The communications schedule is deliberately quieter while that work continues.
10 From the Community, announced the previous week, is a new development show due to debut on Monday 5 October. Its episodes are intended to be short and focused, each covering a different part of Star Citizen’s development through community questions. The announcement thread accepts questions for the first episode and lets players vote for those they most want answered.

Porto’s Bar Citizen and a desert escape
Porto provided a welcome break from bug reports and build numbers over the preceding weekend, 26–27 September, with a Bar Citizen gathering. The gathering gave the team and attendees an evening to exchange stories and discuss feedback in person.
The 28 September Community MVP selection is The Endless Dune by HEBRAiST. Its premise follows a lone figure stranded in a vast desert, who discovers an abandoned outpost among the dunes. Wreckage and scrap from forgotten ships become the materials for an ambitious escape attempt: assembling a machine that might carry them away.
The weekly MVP feature selects one contribution submitted to the Community Hub. The chosen creator receives an MVP badge on Spectrum and a permanent place in the Hub’s MVP section. The feature recognises different kinds of community work, including fan art, cinematics, video guides and fan-made 3D prints of ships.
This edition’s community image selection comprises Arlington, Free Whally, Basketball and F7. Players can submit their own work to the Community Hub for consideration in future selections.
