What to know
The Tumbril Storm AA is a tracked anti-air vehicle built to protect convoys, landing areas, and ground crews from ships and aircraft overhead. Its missile battery, armored chassis, and compact profile bring mobile air defense wherever a fixed launcher cannot follow.
Storm AA specifications
Mobile air defense for convoys and bases
The Storm AA replaces the base vehicle's anti-armor weapon with a dedicated ground-to-air missile battery. Sixteen Size 2 missiles handle tougher aircraft, while sixty-four Size 1 missiles provide more shots against smaller targets.

Air defense that moves with the convoy
Its purpose is not to chase aircraft across the sky. The Storm AA protects a specific area, forces pilots to respect the threat below, and gives friendly vehicles more room to work.

Development note: The Storm AA is flight ready and entered the live game in Alpha 3.21.1. Because Star Citizen remains in active development, specifications, features, and imagery may change over time.
Missiles, sensors, and tracked mobility
Two missile sizes, onboard sensors, armor, and a fast tracked chassis let one operator protect convoys, landing areas, and ground vehicles from attack above.

A dedicated missile package gives the Storm AA its main role: engaging ships and aircraft threatening nearby ground units.
The tracked chassis lets the vehicle move with a ground formation and relocate after firing its first missile.
Protection helps the crew survive the counterfire an active air-defense vehicle is likely to attract.
The Storm AA can protect a convoy, landing area, or worksite without depending on a fixed emplacement.
The vehicle creates breathing room for tanks, transports, and personnel that are vulnerable to attack from above.
Like other ground vehicles, the Storm AA still needs a ship able to carry, unload, recover, and support it between operations.
The Storm AA missile battery
The Storm AA carries sixteen Size 2 missiles for tougher aircraft and sixty-four Size 1 missiles for smaller or more numerous targets.

Eighty missiles split between heavy and light air threats
Use the Size 2 missiles against tougher targets and the larger supply of Size 1 missiles against smaller aircraft.
Stay close enough to a convoy or landing area to engage aircraft before they reach the units below.
Use the tracked chassis to change position before hostile pilots return fire on the launcher.
Mobile air defense for a convoy
The Storm AA travels with nearby vehicles, takes cover with a clear view of the sky, engages approaching aircraft, and moves before the launcher becomes an easy target.

-
Stay near the vehicles that need protection
The Storm AA is most useful beside a convoy, landing area, or armored group.
-
Find cover with a clear view of the sky
Use terrain to hide the chassis without blocking the sensors or missile launcher.
-
Match the missile to the target
Select the heavier Size 2 missile or the more numerous Size 1 missile according to the aircraft approaching.
-
Change position after firing
Leave the known launch site before hostile aircraft can return fire.
A missile battery on a fast tracked chassis
The Storm AA combines eighty missiles with armor, sensors, a compact footprint, and enough mobility to keep pace with the vehicles it protects.

The Storm chassis is easier to carry and position than a larger anti-air platform.
Driving, sensors, target selection, and missile launch all remain under one operator's control.
Onboard sensors help the operator see approaching aircraft soon enough to prepare a shot and warn nearby vehicles.
Tracked mobility makes it harder for hostile pilots to return fire on a known launch site.
One operator drives, tracks, and fires
The operator uses terrain for cover, watches the sky, chooses the right missile, and keeps a route open to the next firing position.

Keep the anti-air vehicle moving
The Storm AA protects nearby vehicles best when it stays close, launches from cover, and relocates before return fire arrives.
Choose terrain that protects the chassis without blocking the sensors or missiles.
The mixed battery gives the operator a suitable option for both light and durable targets.
Missile count, damage, fuel, and access to the carrying ship decide how long the vehicle can remain in the field.
