What to know
The Esperia Glaive is a symmetrical version of the Scythe reproduced for Human usage. Firepower gives the Glaive authority against tougher targets without turning it into a slow heavy fighter.
Glaive specifications
The targets the Glaive is designed to face
The Esperia Glaive recreates a Vanduul heavy fighter for Human pilots. Two Size 5 WRATH cannons form the main battery, supported by two Size 1 repeaters and eight Size 2 missiles in an unusual single-seat airframe.

Combat systems aboard the Glaive
The Glaive is defined by heavy forward guns and a Vanduul control layout, not by the balanced handling of a conventional Human medium fighter.

Development note: The Glaive is flight ready and entered the live game in Patch V0.8.5. Because Star Citizen remains in active development, specifications, features, and imagery may change over time.
Glaive's combat systems
The Glaive balances the guns and missiles, protection, and responsive handling in a fighter built to hit harder than a light fighter.

The Glaive is a heavy Vanduul fighter with a symmetrical silhouette and a weapon package intended for direct combat.
The flyable Glaive recreates the shape, cockpit character, and unusual weapon arrangement of the Vanduul design for Human pilots.
Flight controls, target data, weapon status, and damage warnings share one pilot's display.
The crew monitors power draw and heat when several major systems are working together.
The Glaive's weapon package
The replica has a pair of Size 5 'WRATH' Cannons, a pair of Size 1 'WEAK' Repeaters as well as pair of Size 4 missile hard-points (each holding a rack of four Size 2 missiles) installed.

Guns and missiles in the Glaive
The Glaive carries guns and missiles. Use the guns for sustained fire and save missiles for targets that justify them.
The pilot uses the Glaive's movement to hold aim without ignoring incoming fire or another target.
The Glaive should not begin another exchange until the pilot has checked damage, shields, and remaining weapons.
Lead with the Glaive's two Size 5 cannons
The Glaive replica is arranged around two heavy WRATH cannons. Smaller repeaters and eight Size 2 missiles support that main battery in a single-seat recreation of a Vanduul fighter.

-
Bring both Size 5 cannons onto the target
The paired WRATH cannons provide the Glaive's defining direct fire.
-
Use the two Size 1 repeaters for lighter work
The smaller WEAK repeaters supplement the heavy cannons without consuming missile ammunition.
-
Carry eight Size 2 missiles
Two Size 4 hardpoints each hold four guided missiles.

Esperia makes the fighter usable by Humans while preserving the unusual cockpit and weapon arrangement.
Weapons and controls aboard the Glaive
The Glaive combines its guns and missiles with the handling, protection, and targeting systems needed for its combat role.
Inside the Glaive, responsive handling helps the pilot keep the guns and missiles on target through tight turns.
Aboard the Glaive, sensors and weapon controls help the pilot identify a suitable target and keep the guns and missiles aimed at it.
The Glaive's shields and armor help the pilot survive return fire during a close attack.
Ground or carrier crews rearm the Glaive, repair damage, and inspect its systems before the next sortie.
One pilot controls the full Glaive battery
The pilot manages two Size 5 cannons, two Size 1 repeaters, eight missiles, and the unfamiliar handling of a Human-built Vanduul design.
Vanduul firepower adapted for a Human pilot
The Glaive keeps the silhouette and heavy forward weapons of the original while Esperia supplies Human-compatible controls and systems.
The paired cannons are the fighter's main reason to exist.
The smaller guns handle targets that do not justify the main cannons or a missile.
Two missile hardpoints add guided attacks to the forward gun battery.
