How to Request Landing Permission in Star Citizen
Find the right ATC contact, follow your assigned hangar marker and recognise the difference between landing clearance and a service menu that is slow to catch up.
To request landing permission, contact ATC through your ship’s Communications MFD or the mobiGlas Commlink. Wait for an assignment, then follow its marker to your landing space.
Bring Landing Services into range
Landing Services typically appears within 5–7 km. On the Communications MFD, select the local service. Alternatively, open the mobiGlas Commlink, find Landing Services at the top of the Friends list and select its arrow to hail it.
A busy port may queue you. Clearance assigns a hangar, pad or docking port according to your ship; follow that marker rather than choosing an empty-looking space.
Follow the assignment into the port
For a pad or hangar, lower your gear, slow down and align with the entrance. Some hangars have an overhead approach; others open horizontally. An external-camera view can help check clearance. Wait for ATC’s landing confirmation before powering down and leaving.
A larger docking-capable ship may receive a docking-port assignment instead. Follow its docking guidance rather than attempting a hangar landing.
Outposts and restricted airspace
Where an outpost has no Landing Services, use an available pad while avoiding other ships. In cities, heed no-fly warnings: continuing into restricted airspace can result in impoundment.
When you have landed but services have not caught up
Alpha 4.10.2 has a documented delay in which the Landing Services app does not recognise a completed landing. Allow several minutes to pass, then close and reopen that app in mobiGlas.
Repair, refuel and restock options can also take time to appear after landing and the hangar doors closing. This is a workaround for delayed services, not a guarantee that every clearance or hangar fault will resolve the same way.
If you are parked correctly but still cannot obtain supplies, our repair, refuel and restock guide separates the different symptoms and next steps.
