A complete base for deep-space exploration

The Carrack can survey from the bridge, send the Pisces ahead, deploy the Ursa on the surface, and support the team with onboard treatment, maintenance, supplies, and living space. Its value is the way those systems let an expedition investigate a discovery instead of merely recording its coordinates.

Command, survey, fieldwork, and recovery under one roof

The broad bridge brings flight, scanning, mapping, and charting together. Behind it, the hangar, vehicle bay, modular lower bays, workshops, medical room, and crew spaces let specialists investigate a discovery and bring back maps, samples, or records.

Development note: The Carrack is flight ready and entered the live game in Alpha 3.8.0. Because Star Citizen remains in active development, specifications, features, and imagery may change over time.

Range, fieldwork, and support systems on the Carrack

The Carrack combines long-range scanning with the vehicles, medical care, repair facilities, cargo space, and living quarters needed to investigate far from port.

Pisces scout hangar

The carried Pisces can scout ahead, move crew, or reach places where sending the Carrack itself would be unnecessary.

Ursa rover bay

The included Ursa carries the expedition beyond the landing site with protected space for people and equipment.

Medical facility

Onboard treatment gives an injured away team immediate care without ending the expedition at the first accident.

Repair workshop

Dedicated repair space helps the crew maintain equipment and deal with damage far from a convenient hangar.

Mapping and charting bridge

Flight, scanning, mapping, and charting stations share a broad two-level bridge built for expedition command.

Three modular lower bays

Three swappable lower bays carry 456 SCU by default and can support other expedition modules as they become available.

Bridge, scout craft, rover, and expedition support

Flight, scanning, mapping, and charting stations share a broad command space with a clear view of the route ahead.

Survey Map the route and identify the site

Use the Carrack's bridge scanners and mapping stations to understand the destination before sending people or vehicles closer.

Explore Send the right team for a closer look

Deploy the Pisces, Ursa rover, drones, or suited specialists while the Carrack remains the expedition's support base.

Return Bring the expedition's findings home

Secure maps, samples, and records, then keep enough fuel, supplies, and repair capacity for the journey back.

From first scan to field expedition

The Carrack maps the destination, sends the right people and vehicles for a closer look, supports them in the field, and brings the crew and its findings home.

  1. Set the expedition goal and route

The Carrack leaves with a clear expedition goal, enough range, and the equipment needed to investigate the destination.

  2. Use the first scan to choose the next step

The crew compares scans and maps before sending the Pisces, Ursa rover, drones, or suited specialists for a closer look.

  3. Use the scan to guide surface work and sample collection

once a promising site is found, the Carrack uses people, vehicles, suits, or tools to examine the site directly.

  4. Keep enough fuel and supplies for the return

The Carrack leaves the site with the crew, records, samples, and enough range to reach support even if the preferred route closes.

Crew spaces, modular bays, and expedition support

Below and behind the bridge, modular cargo bays, crew quarters, repair space, medical care, and protected navigation systems support long expeditions away from port.

01 Modular lower bays

Three swappable lower modules let the ship carry substantial cargo by default or adapt to more specialized expedition work.

02 Reinforced canopy cover

The multi-storey bridge canopy can be sealed behind a titanium-reinforced blast cover when the situation turns dangerous.

03 Long-duration accommodation

Crew rooms, supplies, and shared facilities support the people who have to live with the ship across a long route.

04 Expedition navigation

Mapping stations, route planning, and fuel management help the crew reach remote sites and preserve a safe journey home.

The Carrack carries everything needed for the expedition

The crew prepares enough range and supplies for both the investigation and the return.

A complete expedition team aboard one ship

Pilots, explorers, engineers, and medical staff can work from the same ship while the Carrack provides transport, field support, and a home between discoveries.

Plan Set the route and the expedition goal

The bridge crew plans the outbound route, alternate stops, and the fuel and supplies needed to return.

Explore Send specialists beyond the landing site

The Pisces, Ursa rover, drones, and EVA equipment give the team several ways to examine a discovery up close.

Support Keep the team working far from port

Medical care, repairs, food, living space, and secure storage support the people and findings gathered along the way.
