The Corsair gives a small crew the range, equipment, and living space needed to leave familiar shipping lanes. Its practical interior keeps the bridge, engineering spaces, armory, crew quarters, and cargo hold easy to reach during a long trip.

A Drake ship built for distance

Rugged construction, visible systems, and direct access take priority over polish. This creates an explorer that can carry supplies or a ground vehicle and still defend itself when a remote route becomes dangerous.

Development note: The Corsair entered service in Alpha 3.17.4 and is available in-game. Because Star Citizen remains in active development, specifications, features, and imagery may change over time.

Everything a small expedition needs

Scanning, fuel, storage, crew facilities, and firepower are brought together in one ship so the crew can travel farther without relying on a nearby station.

Range Long-range scanning and fuel

A full scanning suite, fuel intakes, and twin quantum fuel tanks support routes well beyond familiar shipping lanes.

Cargo A vehicle-ready 72 SCU hold

The rear hold can secure freight or make room for a ground exploration vehicle and field equipment.

Equipment A well-stocked armory

Dedicated racks store rifles, sidearms, larger weapons, armor, and the equipment the crew needs beyond the ramp.

Habitation Private space for four

Four private quarters and shared facilities give every crew member a place to rest and store personal gear.

Heavy firepower for a long-range explorer

Four Size 5 nose mounts and two Size 4 wing mounts sit under pilot control. Missile racks and three turrets add coverage when the rest of the crew joins the fight.

Flight Open the wings in flight

The convertible wings give the Corsair its broad flight profile and unmistakable silhouette.

Landing Fold the wings for the pad

Folding the wings reduces the ship's width from 56 metres in flight to 27 metres when landed.

Atmosphere Use the dedicated VTOL thrusters

Paired VTOL thrusters support takeoff and landing when the expedition reaches a planetary destination.

Plan a complete Corsair expedition

The Corsair works best when the route, payload, vehicle, and crew roles are decided before departure.

  1. Plan the outward and return journey

Use the scanning suite and fuel reserves to choose a route the ship can complete without relying on an unplanned stop.

  2. Choose freight or a ground vehicle

Arrange the rear hold around the cargo, supplies, and surface transport needed at the destination.

  3. Assign the bridge, turrets, and engineering

A full crew can divide flight, scanning, defensive fire, and system management between dedicated stations.

  4. Load the armory and secure the hold

Finish the final equipment checks before the Corsair leaves the support of a station or landing zone.

A practical expedition interior

The Corsair's rooms are arranged around a compact central lift, keeping the bridge, engineering spaces, living quarters, armory, turrets, and cargo bay connected.

Bridge Command from a split-level cockpit

Pilot, copilot, and scanning positions share a clear forward view while keeping major controls close together.

Crew Give everyone a private room

Four individual quarters make long journeys more comfortable for a full expedition crew.

Engineering Reach the working systems quickly

Direct interior access makes routine checks and repairs easier without sending the crew outside the ship.

Cargo Continue the mission beyond the ramp

A broad rear ramp lets the crew load freight, supplies, or a ground vehicle for surface exploration.
