Meet the Galaxy

The Galaxy can change jobs by replacing the large module in the center of the ship. The bridge, engineering spaces, living areas, cargo hold, and rear hangar remain in place while the module adds medical, refining, or cargo facilities.

Development note: The Galaxy is currently in active production. Because Star Citizen remains in active development, specifications, features, and imagery may change over time.

One ship, several possible jobs

The replaceable module changes what the Galaxy can do, while the permanent bridge, engines, living areas, cargo space, and hangar support every version of the ship.

Mission modules

Interchangeable module concepts let the Galaxy pivot between cargo, medical, refining, and other specialized operations.

Integrated hangar

A dedicated hangar supports a snub or utility craft, extending the crew's reach beyond the mothership.

Long-range habitation

Crew accommodations and working spaces are arranged for sustained operations rather than short station-to-station trips.

Defensive coverage

Defensive weapons help the Galaxy protect its people and mission payload while escorts handle the heaviest fighting.

64 SCU core capacity

Permanent cargo space carries everyday supplies and equipment without using room inside the selected module.

Six-person operation

The same bridge and engineering crew can run the ship while medical, refinery, or cargo specialists join for the installed module.

Why the Galaxy works

Cargo, medical, and refinery modules give the Galaxy different uses. The bridge, engines, living areas, cargo hold, and rear hangar stay with the ship whichever module is installed.

Choose the job before loading the ship

The installed module decides what the Galaxy will do, which specialists need to board, what supplies belong in the cargo hold, and which support craft should travel in the rear hangar.

  1. Install the right module

A medical, refinery, or cargo module changes the ship's purpose and the supplies that must be loaded before departure.

  2. Bring the right crew and support craft

Crew, supplies, and the craft in the rear hangar should all support the job performed by the selected module.

  3. Bring the facility where it is needed

The Galaxy can provide treatment, refining, or freight support far from a permanent station.

  4. Change jobs back at port

After returning to port, the same hull can be fitted with a different module for its next role.

Choose the mission before departure

The Galaxy is not defined by one permanent interior. Its central module bay lets an owner configure the ship around the work that matters now, while the hangar remains available for support craft.

Galaxy - Concept Medical Module Cutaway in Star Citizen
Medical module Bring treatment closer

The medical module turns the Galaxy into a large mobile care ship for fleets and remote locations.

Refinery module Process ore in the field

The refinery concept supports industrial groups that want to convert extracted material before committing to the return journey.

Cargo module Prioritize freight volume

The cargo concept opens the central bay for large-scale logistics and straightforward loading access.

Rear hangar Keep a support craft aboard

A dedicated hangar extends the Galaxy's reach with a utility, medical, or shuttle craft independent of the selected central module.

Who the Galaxy is for

The Galaxy's crew changes with the installed module, but command, flight, engineering, and specialist teams all work around the same central mission space.

The installed module changes the crew

The Galaxy always needs flight and engineering crew, but the specialists aboard should match the installed module. A medical module needs different people from a refinery or cargo module.

Best fit Groups with changing needs

The Galaxy suits groups that can use different medical, refinery, or cargo modules on separate jobs.

Crew roles Core crew plus specialists

The flight and engineering crew run the ship while medical, refinery, or cargo specialists operate the installed module.

Plan around Modules change at port

Choosing the module, loading supplies, and assigning crew all happen before departure. The Galaxy cannot switch jobs in the middle of a mission.

See what changes and what stays

The technical views show the replaceable module in the center of the ship and the bridge, engineering, living areas, cargo hold, and rear hangar that remain part of every Galaxy.
