What to know
The Guardian QI is an interdictor variant of the Guardian manufactured by Mirai. For the Guardian QI, EMP, quantum control, sensors, or other electronic systems create an opening that ordinary guns cannot produce on their own.
Guardian QI specifications
The Guardian QI prevents the target from escaping
The Guardian QI uses the quantum dampener to disrupt another ship before ordinary weapons decide the fight. Two Size 5 guns and four racks carrying two Size 3 missiles each give the QI heavy-fighter firepower alongside its quantum dampener. Although it is a compact ship, all components but the quantum dampener are accessible from within, supporting maintenance and replacement.

How the Guardian QI disables a target
With the Guardian QI, EMP, quantum control, sensors, or other electronic systems create an opening that ordinary guns cannot produce on their own.

Development note: The Guardian QI is flight ready and entered the live game in Alpha 4.0.0. Because Star Citizen remains in active development, specifications, features, and imagery may change over time.
The Guardian QI's control package
The Guardian QI combines the quantum dampener with the sensors, movement, and weapons needed to turn a short opening into a completed interception.

Although it is a compact ship, all components but the quantum dampener are accessible from within, supporting maintenance and replacement.
The Guardian QI must confirm the target and range before using the quantum dampener, especially near friendly or civilian ships.
Using specialist equipment can limit how much power remains for propulsion, shields, or weapons.
Inside Guardian QI's quantum dampener
The QI's quantum dampener prevents nearby ships from entering quantum travel, giving the pilot time to hold and resolve an interception.

Quantum dampener in the Guardian QI
Confirm the target and range before the Guardian QI applies the quantum dampener.
Time the quantum dampener around the action the pilot or allied ships are ready to take next.
Tell nearby ships what the quantum dampener changed and how long the effect is expected to last.
From identification to containment with quantum dampener
The Guardian QI is built to change the terms of an encounter through the quantum dampener, then turn that advantage into a completed interception or capture.

-
Choose the target system for the Guardian QI to disrupt
Aboard the Guardian QI, electronic warfare works best when the pilot knows whether mobility, shields, sensors, or quantum travel must be interrupted.
-
Use the disruption system at close range
Aboard the Guardian QI, timing matters because containment or disruption from the quantum dampener lasts only for a limited window.
-
Follow the Guardian QI's disruption with an attack
On the Guardian QI, weapons or allied ships need to act while the target is confused, disabled, or unable to leave.
-
Use the Guardian QI to warn nearby ships as the target recovers
Aboard the Guardian QI, clear calls about duration, recovery, and the next target stop the team from relying on a disruption that has already ended.
The Guardian QI's target-control systems
The Guardian QI uses its quantum dampener to disrupt or restrict a target, then uses its sensors and conventional weapons to take advantage of the opening.
The Guardian QI's compact cabin combines a bed, bathroom, and kitchenette for travel between longer missions.
The Guardian QI's storage keeps cargo and equipment ready for combat work.
Identification and range information help the Guardian QI use the quantum dampener against the chosen target.
For the Guardian QI, a separate control station lets the crew operate the quantum dampener while still monitoring flight and defensive systems.
The Guardian QI makes a target vulnerable to nearby ships
The pilot has to identify the system that matters, bring the quantum dampener into range, and make sure allies are ready to exploit the disruption.
Electronic attack with the Guardian QI
The disruption created by the Guardian QI is temporary. The Guardian QI's pilot needs to coordinate with nearby ships so they can use that opening to capture the target, destroy it, or pass safely.

For the Guardian QI, sensors keep the quantum dampener on the chosen target. Clear calls tell nearby ships when the effect begins and ends.
The Guardian QI adds the most value when nearby ships know what changed on the target and how long they have to act.
Inside the Guardian QI's control systems
The Guardian QI keeps the quantum dampener within easy reach of the pilot or crew. Flight, targeting, and damage information share the same working area.
