The Impound summary

What to know

The Aegis Retaliator is a modular multi-crew ship built around two interchangeable bays. Owners can fit those spaces for cargo, habitation, torpedoes, or another supported role, while five manned turrets and a dedicated engineer support the large hull.

Two module bays, one mission at a time

The base Retaliator does not have one permanent payload. Its forward and rear bays can accept different modules, allowing the owner to configure the ship around a specific job before departure.

The installed modules decide what the Retaliator carries. Five manned turrets protect the long airframe, while crew quarters and engineering access support missions away from immediate station services.

Development note: The Retaliator is flight ready and entered the live game in Alpha 3.23.1. Because Star Citizen remains in active development, specifications, features, and imagery may change over time.

Support for the Retaliator's modular role

The two module bays provide the working payload. Turret coverage, engineering, crew facilities, and long-range operation keep that payload protected and usable during the mission.

Crew demand

The Retaliator provides stations and living space for a pilot, five gunners, and an engineer. Its seven-person crew reflects the number of weapon stations and systems spread through the long multi-crew hull.

Retaliator's secondary armament

Five manned turrets each carry two Size 3 guns: three cover the upper hull and two protect the lower hemisphere.

Configure the Retaliator before departure

The Retaliator has the option to swap out two central areas of the ship with various different modular rooms. These can fundamentally alter the function and role of the ship.

Visibility from the Retaliator

Flight controls, target data, weapon status, and damage warnings share one pilot's display.

Retaliator's power limits

The crew monitors power draw and heat when several major systems are working together.

A modular Retaliator protected by five manned turrets

The base Retaliator is built around two interchangeable module bays rather than one permanent payload. Five manned turrets provide overlapping protection while the owner configures the central spaces for cargo, habitation, torpedoes, or another supported role.

Configure Choose two modules that work together

The forward and rear bays work best when they support the same role, such as a full torpedo load, cargo capacity, or crew accommodation.

Coverage Use five gunners to protect the large hull

The turret network covers the ship while the payload, range, and slower handling keep it committed to the crew's plan.

Crew Treat stations and engineering as part of the payload

A modular bay changes what the ship can carry, but a prepared crew determines whether that role remains usable through the mission.

Configure the Retaliator for the mission

The base Retaliator has two interchangeable module bays and five manned turrets. The selected modules decide what the ship carries, while the turret crew protects the long hull during the trip.

  1. Choose both bay modules

Fit the forward and rear bays for cargo, habitation, torpedoes, or another supported role before the ship leaves port.

  2. Assign the five turrets

Each gunner receives a clear firing sector so the defensive battery covers the Retaliator without wasting crew attention.

  3. Use the selected payload

The module crew handles whatever the selected bays carry, from cargo and living space to torpedoes.

  4. Keep the long hull working

Engineering, damage control, and clear internal routes help the Retaliator remain usable when a mission becomes dangerous.

How the Retaliator is set up to fight

The Retaliator combines its five manned turrets and configurable module bays with the handling, protection, and targeting systems needed for its combat role.

01 Shielding

Shielding helps keep the Retaliator and its occupants working when avoiding trouble is no longer possible.

02 Longer range

The Retaliator carries the reserve fuel needed to spend more time between established ports.

03 Cargo handling on the Retaliator

The Retaliator's cargo handling keeps cargo and equipment ready for modular gunship work.

04 Retaliator combat handling

For the Retaliator, responsive handling helps the pilot keep the gun battery on target through tight turns.

The crew adapts to the installed modules

The Retaliator supports a pilot, five gunners, and an engineer. That crew protects the ship, maintains its systems, and operates whichever modules are installed.

Give every seat a clear responsibility

The Retaliator has more active stations than most ships of its size, so turret coverage, engineering calls, and module work need to follow one plan.

Pilot Fly for the installed modules

The pilot chooses the route and position around what the current payload needs to accomplish.

Gunners Cover the hull with five turrets

Five gunners protect different approaches around the long airframe while the pilot holds course.

Engineer Keep power and damage under control

The engineer monitors the ship's condition and supports the systems the crew needs most during the mission.
