Alpha 4.10: Siege of Orison is live, Ship Showdown 2956 reaches its Final Four, and Bar Citizen heads to PAX West in this week’s Star Citizen schedule.
Alpha 4.10: Siege of Orison is now live, and the Nine Tails have brought the fight straight to Crusader’s floating city. With Orison under assault and air traffic into the area blocked, assault teams need to deploy by secure shuttle and put the insurrection down before more lives are lost. If you are heading in, bring the toughest crew you have; this one is very much not a sightseeing tour with complimentary clouds.
Alongside Siege of Orison, Alpha 4.10 rebalances fuel tank capacity and consumption across the ship roster, updates refueling missions to match, and introduces Kruger’s first medium fighter, the S-65 Stingray. CIG also thanked players sending reports through the Issue Council as the patch settles in, and pointed to the Improving the Live Experience Comm-Link for more on how current issues are being tracked and prioritized.
The latest Letter from the Chairman covers what the new instancing tech in 4.10 means going forward, offers some myth-busting around Star Engine, and confirms Squadron 42’s release window has shifted to Q2 2027. CIG also released the first episode of Inside CIG, a behind-the-scenes video looking at what it takes to ship a release like 4.10.
Ship Showdown 2956 has reached the Final Four, while the Free Fly continues. All Elite Eight ships remain free to fly for backers through September 2, giving you a little more time to take your favorites out before voting wraps and this year’s champion is crowned.
CIG also shared an early look at upcoming changes to pledge gifting and game access ahead of the new Game Library system launching in October. The team is rounding up questions from the discussion and plans to share more information soon.
Bar Citizen Cologne drew over 500 attendees last Friday, and the Bar Citizen World Tour keeps moving. The next stop is September 4 at PAX West in Seattle, Washington.
