Esperia

Esperia (Esperia Incorporation) is a Human spacecraft manufacturer that adapts, reproduces, and sells existing spacecraft and weapon designs. The company was founded in 2873 by Jovi and Theo Ingstrom, brothers interested in preserving spacecraft-building history. Its current lineup of reproductions includes copies of the Vanduul Blade, Glaive, and Scythe, along with an updated model of the Tevarin Prowler dropship. Alongside manufacturing alien vessels, the company funds several xenoarchaeology research grants through the University of Rhetor. The current CEO of Esperia is Charlotte Hussion. The company is headquartered in Kutaram, Terra, Terra system. The United Empire of Earth Navy (UEEN) uses Esperia's replica spacecraft for testing and for aggressor training its combat pilots.

Ship manufacturing

Esperia stays true to the original experience of each ship, a tenet established by the Ingstrom brothers when the company first branched into ship reproduction. Esperia's astroengineers are not permitted to diverge from the original construction method when doing so would change the experience of the ship, even though ship construction techniques have made significant advances in efficiency, safety, and aesthetics since the time the original design was introduced.

Prowler

Esperia began with the reproduction of the Prowler after an original Tevarin Prowler was found on the abandoned planet Kabal III in 2941. The UEE contracted Esperia to assess the technology and reproduce it with newer technology.

Esperia maintains a digital archive for original ship blueprints, established because of the founders' interest in preserving them.

Xenoarchaeology research

The Ingstrom Fellowship selects eight recipients a year for their work in the advancement of the field of xenoarchaeology.

Founding

Esperia was started by Jovi and Theo Ingstrom, two brothers who were fascinated by spaceflight while growing up on Terra. As they tried to learn all they could, they realized that only a fraction of ship designs had been passed down through the centuries. Many ships never saw production runs, but that did not mean their designs lacked good ideas. Created in 2873, Esperia was initially conceived as a repository for these lost ship blueprints, in the hope that contemporary ship engineers could be inspired by the missteps of the past. The business grew quickly, and before long the brothers decided to build their first ship based on one of the long-lost designs.

Since then, Esperia has expanded its manufacturing arm to build ships for private collectors and for military training exercises. It has provided xeno-spacecraft reproductions for the UEE military.

Conflict with Vanduul

The Vanduul War is not some distant threat, to paraphrase Admiral Bishop: it is at our door. Vega. Now Oberon. Who knows what system could be struck next? Esperia promised to donate a large percentage of its Blade sales to the UEEN Veteran Relief Fund after the attack on Vega II.
