What to know
Sweltering, stifling and extremely poisonous, Nyx II is a smoggy, desolate world that was once considered an edge case for terraforming.
Sweltering, stifling and extremely poisonous, Nyx II is a smoggy, desolate world that was once considered an edge case for terraforming.
Thick clouds of acid and carbon dioxide surround the world and the planet is technically teetering at the inner edge of the system's green band. Nevertheless, a serious study was conducted as to whether or not it could be made inhabitable. The end result was that it was next to impossible with current technology and that it would have taken generations of effort. EVA on the planet itself is lethal; would-be explorers are subject to the deadly atmosphere, stifling temperatures, twisted terrain and extreme air pressure.
All of this inaccessibility has ensured one thing: What resources lay waiting to be extracted from Nyx II have yet to be exhausted.
