Quantum Dampener: preventing the engaging of Quantum Drives thus preventing Quantum Travel and the use of some Master Modes

Confusing naming and confusion with Quantum Enforcement Devices
As the name "Quantum Dampener" is both used for the device (which this article covers) and the Quantum Enforcement Technique (see Quantum Enforcement) people often don't consider the Quantum Dampener to be its own component but instead utilize the Quantum Enforcement Device as an umbrella term.
This is technically incorrect as the component equipped on ships like the Cutlass Blue or Guardian QI is actually labeled QDMP or QD (which is the old abbreviation).
