Stever Bender graduated from Ringling School of Art's Computer Animation Department. He was the animation director at Crytek on the Crysis series. He also worked on Ryse and what became Warface. Around 2012 they got rumours that Chris Roberts was interested in doing something with the CryEngine and Steve Bender eventually went to work with CIG after meeting with him in London.
