Starlancer TAC - The AC-130 of the Stars

Starlancer TAC - The AC-130 of the Stars

There are ships in Star Citizen that are elegant.
There are ships that are fast.
And then there’s this: the MISC Starlancer TAC, a spaceborne gunship that looks like someone at MISC decided to build a space ambulance, a mobile barracks, and an orbital death platform, and then made sure it could cook an egg on its hull with all the heat.

Firepower

This ship is a flying artillery platform.
The Starlancer TAC bristles with more weaponry than some entire systems.

The pilot’s four laser cannons deliver 1,940 DPS, while sixteen Thunderbolt missiles provide what tacticians politely call “diplomatic persuasion.” The co-pilot’s twelve Ignite missiles add insult to injury.

Then there are the turrets: two remote and two manned, for a total of eight heavy guns. Each time they fire, the surrounding area feels it.

None of the turrets can currently be controlled by AI, so a full crew is essential to unleash its full power.

Performance

It is slow.
Painfully slow.

The Starlancer TAC moves through space like a sofa being pushed through syrup. With an SCM speed of 110 and a NAV speed under a thousand, chasing anyone is out of the question. You simply wait for them to come into range.

But when they do, the ship turns them into scrap and regret. It is the AC-130 of space, hovering above battlefields, raining down fire, and shouting “Heat!” until the sensors give up.

Interior

Inside, the TAC is a masterpiece of industrial design: efficient, functional, and just a little terrifying.

  • Medical Bay: Fully equipped for patching up your crew or yourself.

  • Drop Zone: Eight jump seats, dual side doors, and mounted guns for side assaults.

  • Cargo Bay: 96 SCU of mag-plate cargo space for ROCs, URSAs, or whatever you can fit.

  • Living Quarters: Eight bunks, kitchen, and two bathrooms. Functional and compact.

  • Top Hangar: Fits up to two Furies or one M50. Activate a lever and the hangar opens dramatically for launch.

Versatility

The Starlancer TAC can handle nearly any mission type.

  • Combat drops

  • Ground assault support

  • Medical evacuation

  • Cargo hauling

  • Escort operations

It is not elegant and it is not subtle, but it is one of the most capable multi-role ships available. A Carrack with more aggression and fewer apologies.

Verdict

The Starlancer TAC is a Chinook gunship in space.
Large, loud, and unapologetically over-engineered.

It is slower than most capital ships, and it flies like a brick, but when it fires, it feels like the hand of God just pressed “Delete.”

Verdict:

“It’s ridiculous, it’s impractical, and it’s absolutely glorious.”

Score: 90 / 100

When subtlety fails, overwhelming firepower always succeeds.
