Star Citizen Store Terminology
A complete ship, a CCU and a paint can share the same ship name. Here is how to tell what a listing actually puts in your hangar.
Complete ships and game access
Game package
A game package supplies the game access specified in its contents. Look for Star Citizen Digital Download or Squadron 42 Digital Download rather than relying on the word “package” alone. Access to one game does not automatically include the other.
Our listing’s contents and pledge screenshot are the place to check. If they do not make an inclusion clear, ask us before ordering. A collection of ships is not necessarily a game package.
Standalone ship or vehicle
A standalone listing supplies the ship or vehicle and the contents stated for that pledge. It does not by itself provide Star Citizen or Squadron 42 access. You still need the relevant game entitlement to use a flight-ready ship in the game.
Insurance duration and extras vary between listings for the same model. A ship that is still in development may provide a temporary substitute through the Loaner Matrix. That substitute is not evidence that you received the wrong pledge.
CCU’d ship or vehicle
This is a complete ship that reached its current model through one or more applied upgrades. It is different from an unapplied CCU. You receive the final ship described in the listing, although the gift email or underlying pledge name may still refer to the original base.
“CCU’d” does not itself mean Lifetime Insurance. Read the insurance stated on the actual offer. Many of our CCU’d listings have LTI, but the upgrade history and the insurance are separate facts.
If an upgraded pledge is reclaimed, its applied upgrades are stripped. Any eligible buyback relates to the original pledge, not the complete upgraded result. Do not melt a delivered ship merely because the base name in an email looks unfamiliar; expand the pledge and check its current ship first.

Original Concept, editions and paints
Original Concept
Original Concept describes the pledge’s origin in the ship’s initial concept offering. It does not mean the ship is still in the concept stage today. An older Original Concept pledge can belong to a ship that has long been flyable.
Collectors may be looking for that original pledge, its insurance or particular extras. Those details need to be checked against the individual listing: do not assume every Original Concept offer includes an identical set of rewards, and do not assume a CCU to the same ship recreates the original pledge.
Special edition or named variant
A special name can identify a distinct ship variant, an edition of a pledge, or a cosmetic finish. The name alone cannot tell you which. Compare the ship model and contents before treating two offers as interchangeable.
For an upgrade, this distinction is especially important. Its starting ship must match the model you actually own; a related variant or another generation is not automatically a valid substitute.
Paint-only listing
A paint offer supplies the listed cosmetic item for its stated compatible ship or family. The ship pictured wearing it is not included unless the listing explicitly says otherwise. Check compatibility rather than assuming a finish works across every generation with the same family name.
A paint does not turn one ship variant into another. Choose the ship for the capabilities you want, then choose an appropriate finish.

Upgrades and what they carry over
CCU — Cross-Chassis Upgrade
An unapplied CCU is an upgrade item with a starting ship and a target ship. It needs an eligible matching ship already in your account. Applying it replaces that ship within its pledge; it does not add a second complete ship alongside it.
Ordinary upgrades change the ship while retaining the pledge’s existing contents. Extra paint, insurance or other rewards must be specified on the upgrade itself. The contents of a separate standalone offer for the target model are not automatically included.
Upgrades are permanent once applied. For the delivery and application steps, including checks for a missing source ship, use our CCU guide.
Upgrades with extra insurance or paint
Some upgrade items explicitly include additional benefits. Read that item’s contents, not a different promotion for the same target ship. Where multiple insurance durations appear on an upgraded pledge, the higher duration applies.

Insurance, credits and included craft
Insurance duration and LTI
LTI means Lifetime Insurance for the qualifying pledge. Finite durations are listed in months or years. The pledge-duration clock begins when the game leaves testing; current Alpha ship-loss coverage is a separate testing arrangement.
LTI does not make every expense disappear. Claims and repairs can still cost in-game currency. Custom equipment also needs attention: current loadout insurance is separate from simply owning an LTI pledge. Do not read “LTI” as a promise that every cargo item or future custom fit is covered.
UEC and starting money
UEC included inside a pledge is intended for the released game. It is not added to the current Alpha balance simply because the package lists starting credits. A package-content number and the balance visible on your account can therefore differ without anything being missing.
aUEC
aUEC is the Alpha’s in-game testing currency. When a fresh balance is assigned, testing needs determine the base amount; eligible account UEC outside packages can also contribute. Existing balances may carry forward instead. Check the specific patch’s persistence notes rather than assuming every update resets your money. Your changing in-game balance is not mirrored by the website’s UEC figure.
Included snubs and rovers
Some parent ships come with an included smaller craft through the loaner system. It may appear at an ASOP terminal without a separate entry in the website pledge contents. It cannot be upgraded or reclaimed independently, and removing or upgrading away from its parent removes that entitlement.
A separately listed ship in a multi-ship pledge is a different case. Check how the actual pledge is structured before assuming a small craft is independently upgradeable.
MM — Midweek Mayhem
MM is The Impound’s Midweek Mayhem promotion label. Availability and the terms of the current offer matter; a past promotion name does not promise that an item is still discounted or in stock. Check our current drops and restocks.
Not sure which listing you need?
Send us the product link and tell us whether you want a complete ship, an upgrade for a ship you already own, or a paint. If you are shopping for a CCU, include the exact starting model. That lets us help with the item you need before you commit to the wrong one.
