Meet the Ironclad
The Ironclad turns its cargo bay into a large open work area. The roof can open for loading from above, while the forward ramp accepts vehicles and bulky equipment that would be difficult to move through a normal cargo door.


Development note: The Ironclad is flight ready and entered the live game in Alpha 4.8.0. Because Star Citizen remains in active development, specifications, features, and imagery may change over time.
A cargo deck built for difficult loads
Capacity is only the beginning. The Ironclad pairs volume with several ways to reach the load, organize it, protect it, and make it useful as soon as the ship arrives.

The Ironclad provides a huge hold and several ways to reach it. The crew still needs a clear loading plan, an accurate cargo list, and engineers who can keep the ship running away from port.
It suits groups moving mixed equipment, oversized freight, and ground assets that do not fit a simple container route.
Cargo supervisors and engineers are just as important as the people flying the ship when the hold contains a large mixed load.
A very large bay creates flexibility, but it also demands loading equipment, clear manifests, and destinations able to receive the ship.
