Star Citizen Roadmap Roundup - August 27, 2025
Howdy folks, Billy Bob here, straight from the asteroid fields and dust storms of Stanton. Every couple weeks the devs haul out their big ol’ star-chart of promises — the Roadmap — and give us a peek at what’s shufflin’ around. It’s like watchin’ a herd of space cattle wanderin’ toward the barn: some make it on time, some detour through the turnip patch, but eventually they all get wrangled.
Now, this roundup’s all about what’s been released, what’s still simmerin’ on the stove, and what’s just been tossed in the pot. Let’s dive in before the space coyotes get curious.
Recent Updates
Version 4.3.0 finally hit pay dirt, and boy howdy, all its cards are now marked as Released. That’s more satisfying than findin’ a cold beer after EVA work. Here’s what rolled out:
- Sniper Light Armor "Geist"
- Wikelo Light Combat Stealth Suit
- ASD Light Combat Stealth Suit
- New Hair Styles (yes, even us grizzled spacers like a fresh mop now and again)
- Dynamic Snow (because we didn’t have enough trouble with sandstorms and rain)
- Ladder Improvements
- Onyx Facilities
- Wikelo Special Ships
- VOLT Sniper
- L-21 Wolf
On top of that, the devs gave light fighters a tune-up. Ships like the Gladius, Arrow, Hawk, Banu Defender, Talon, Blade, Khartu-Al, and Mustang got their SCM & NAV speeds, accelerations, and angular speeds rebalanced. Basically, they’ll fly tighter than a hover mule dodging a Repo squad. This flight tuning card’s been marked as Released.
Maintenance & Technical Updates
Next up, version 4.3.1 is warming up in the hangar bay. Nothin’s firm yet — these are marked Tentative, which is dev-speak for “maybe soon, maybe later, don’t bet your last credit on it.” The list includes:
- RSI Apollo Triage – the med ship primed for field rescues.
- RSI Apollo Medivac – same as above but beefier: extra armor and dual missile racks for those battlefields where even the medics need to bite back.
- Behring Laser Cannon Art Refactors – sprucin’ up the visuals and geometry of those trusty Behring pew-pews.
- Onyx Facilities Expansion – enter the new Science Wing. Arken Mallor invites y’all back to abandoned research sites dotting nearly every Stanton moon. Security’s light, but the deepest halls lead to Dr. Jorrit’s Lab, where some dark truths are buried.
- AI FPS Turrets – nasty little anti-personnel turrets to dodge or destroy, adding spice to PvE encounters.
- Mission Pickup on Location – now missions’ll pop up in your journal just by wanderin’ into the right patch of space or ground. Makes exploration pay off, like findin’ a hidden still in the backwoods.
Community & Events
The devs remind us that the 1.0 column on the Roadmap ain’t just for the final 1.0 launch — stuff listed there can hop over to earlier patches once it’s ready. So don’t sit there thinkin’ you’ve gotta wait till the end of time to see some of these shinies.
This Week’s Programming
No spectrum soapbox speeches from me, but if y’all wanna jaw about these changes, The Impound’s always got a seat for ya at the table. Grab a mug, lean back, and tell me what excites you most about these updates. Me? I’m still chucklin’ about new hairstyles bein’ on the same list as abandoned research labs and sniper rifles. Priorities, right?
