Star Citizen Roadmap Roundup - August 13, 2025

Hey folks, pull up a chair. Every two weeks the CIG team drops a fresh Roadmap pass, and we’re here at The Impound to walk you through what’s shifting, what’s locking in, and what’s just peeking over the horizon. Consider this your friendly round of patch-side chatter, distilled down so you don’t miss a beat.

Quick reminder: the 1.0 column on the Roadmap isn’t just about the big milestone release. Features listed there are intended to land by or before Star Citizen 1.0, and when they’re ready, they hop into a specific patch column for release. So yeah—no need to wait until the grand launch to see some of these goodies!

Alright, let’s dive into what’s new this round.

Recent Updates

Release View – 4.3.0

  • All 4.3.0 cards have been locked in as Committed. That includes: Sniper Light Armor "Geist," Wikelo Light Combat Stealth Suit, ASD Light Combat Stealth Suit, new hairstyles, Dynamic Snow, Ladder Improvements, Onyx facilities, Wikelo special ships, and the VOLT Sniper.
  • Kruger L-21 Wolf: The classic 30th century light fighter is officially set to join the fleet. This card is also Committed.

Release View – 4.3.1

  • NPC Dropships: These will start showing up in Pyro, defending outposts and delivering reinforcements when locals are under attack. Status: Tentative.
  • Heavy Utility Armor: A brand-new heavy set for those demanding jobs. Status: Tentative.
  • Medium Utility Armor "Ambrose": This one’s been pushed back to a later date. Status: Postponed.
  • New Hairstyles (4.3.1): Two additional hairstyle options are on the way. Status: Tentative.
  • VOLT LMG "Fresnel": A beast of a machine gun that trades rate of fire for raw destructive force. As it heats up, it actually shifts into unleashing searing energy blasts capable of shredding enemies. It’s got a long reload, but the mag is high capacity. Status: Tentative.

Maintenance & Technical Updates

Progress Tracker Adds

Several new deliverables have joined the tracker. Just remember: complete doesn’t always mean immediately ready to ship. Some work still needs to flow downstream before it’s patch-ready.

  • Engineering
  • Crafting
  • FPS Radar & Scanning
  • REDACTED Creature
  • Inventory Rework
  • Item Expiry: Items like key cards will now have an expiry timer and stop functioning once it’s up.
  • Transport Refactor: A rework of the Transit System for easier setup, smoother integration into instanced spaces like hangars, and better performance in server meshed environments.
  • Command Module: Introducing vehicles that can assume control from host ships—think Caterpillar-style modular command setups.

Community & Events

No special events called out in this update, but as always, these Roadmap Roundups are a chance to keep up with what’s shifting and what’s cementing in. Grab your orgmates and chew over the changes—the Kruger Wolf alone is going to be a lunchroom talking point.

This Week’s Programming

The star of the week is the Roadmap update itself. We’ll be back in another two weeks with the next round, so keep your eyes here at The Impound and we’ll keep you in the loop with all the lore-flavored breakdowns you need.
