Star Citizen Alpha 4.5 - Rendering, FPS, Loot, and Wikelo Ship Updates
A clear breakdown of Star Citizen Alpha 4.5, covering graphics upgrades, smarter FPS AI, refreshed loot pools, and new earnable ships at Wikelo’s Emporium.
Alpha 4.5 marks a sizeable leap forward for how your ship flies, how your weapons handle, and how the world around you reacts. While the update’s name focuses on engineering, the real story is the sweeping improvements touching everything from rendering to FPS combat and even what you’ll find tucked away in remote loot stashes.
Rendering & Graphics Overhaul
Visual fidelity gets a major lift this cycle, with the Vulkan renderer gaining noticeable stability and performance. You’ll feel smoother scenes thanks to diagnostic upgrades, crash fixes, and multi-threaded render submission. HDR support lands as well, paired with NVIDIA’s DLSS Transformer model to push clarity further. The graphics options menu has also been reworked to bring richer color, more grounded shadows, and a generally more immersive backdrop as you roam the stars.

FPS Combat Upgrades
First-person engagements take a clear step forward in 4.5. NPCs now handle combat with sharper perception, more meaningful reactions, refined grenade throws, and improved coordination among groups. They also perform cleaner friend-or-foe checks and show better synchronization in their animations, making firefights feel more tactical and less predictable.

Loot Refresh Across the ‘Verse
If you enjoy spelunking through abandoned outposts or detouring through outlaw corners of space, you’ll find fresh reasons to look again. Locations like Align & Mine, Storm Breaker, Dark Territory, and Welcome to Nyx all receive updated loot pools. Twenty-eight new weapon attachments enter rotation, joined by several rewards that were once exclusive to Wikelo’s stockroom.

New Arrivals at Wikelo’s Emporium
Wikelo’s shelves are packed this cycle thanks to a full refresh of earnable ships. The headline is big: the Aegis Idris is finally obtainable in-game. It’s flanked by the Anvil Asgard, MISC Prospector, Argo RAFT, and the Kruger L-21 Wolf, each arriving with upgraded components and distinctive base liveries. Expect queues around the block—Wikelo’s about to be very busy.
